After handling my grandmother's funeral arrangements, I returned home to continue preparing for the opening of my studio. Han Zheng helped me a lot, saving me considerable effort.
On a snowy winter day, I was cleaning the house when I stumbled upon an iron box. Inside were the letters Fu Tianming had written to me back in the day. As I looked at each letter, my thoughts seemed to drift back to the past. Those years with Fu Tianming were incredibly sweet. We skipped classes together, went hiking, and buried a time capsule under the camphor tree on campus that belonged to us.
I took out the iron box and decided to dig up that time capsule. As I went downstairs, I unexpectedly saw Fu Tianming standing below. He stood there, covered in a thick layer of snowflakes. I wondered how long he had been standing there. When he saw me, Fu Tianming opened his mouth but couldn't find the words to speak.
I looked at him, and he looked back at me. After a long moment, Fu Tianming finally spoke. "Xiao Nuan, I was wrong."
"I really regret it."
"I know it's too late for me to say anything now, but I still want to tell you."
"I'm sorry."
After saying this, he bowed to me. I turned and walked away. Fu Tianming hurriedly followed.
"Where are you going?"
I didn't answer.
Fu Tianming said softly, "Can you take me with you?"
I stopped and stared into Fu Tianming's eyes.
"You want to go together?"
Fu Tianming nodded.
I replied lightly, "Then let's go."
I went with Fu Tianming to that school from ten years ago. A decade had passed, but the changes in the school were minimal. The original teaching building had been replaced with a new one, but thankfully, the camphor tree was still there.
Moreover, it has become sturdier than it was ten years ago. I walked up to the camphor tree and found the mark we left back then. Fu Tianming brought over a shovel and began to dig. His movements were slow and serious, as if he were not digging into the earth but unearthing the heart he once lost.
Soon, he unearthed a blue capsule. It was indeed the time capsule we buried years ago. Fu Tianming's hands trembled as he carefully opened the capsule. Inside were two pieces of paper—our wishes written from back then. I unfolded the notes, revealing our childish language.
"I hope we can be together forever."
"I hope our love lasts for eternity."
Seeing those familiar notes, my eyes instantly filled with tears. Fu Tianming also saw the notes. He trembled all over, staring at them in disbelief. He murmured, "How could I have done this?"
"How could I betray Xiaonuan?"
"How could I abandon our love?"
After saying that, his knees buckled, and he knelt down in the snow. He looked at me, his eyes filled with tears. "Xiaonuan, please give me another chance."
"I hope you can come back to me."
I looked at him calmly. "Fu Tianming, don’t do this."
"You look ugly like this."
Fu Tianming froze in place. He stared at me blankly, as if he couldn't understand my words. I sighed. "Fu Tianming, we can't go back."
"We no longer have love."
"Please stop clinging to this."
"It will only make me look down on you."
After saying that, I turned and walked away.
Fu Tianming shouted, "I won't let go."
"I will never let go."
"You are mine, and you will always be mine."
I didn't look back and quickly walked forward.
At that moment, Liu Qingqing suddenly appeared.
Seeing Fu Tianming kneeling on the ground, she screamed, "Feng Nuannuan, what have you done to him?"
I sneered, "I haven't done anything to him."
"It's him who can't face the past."
Liu Qingqing angrily said, "What are you pretending to be innocent for?"
She rushed over, trying to pull me away.
Just then, Han Zheng suddenly appeared.
He grabbed Liu Qingqing and coldly said, "Do you dare to lay a hand on Nuannuan?"
Liu Qingqing retorted, "Who are you?"
"What right do you have to interfere in our matters?"
Han Zheng replied coldly, "I am her boyfriend."
"Who else is supposed to take care of her if not me?"
Liu Qingqing turned to Fu Tianming and screamed, "Fu Tianming, did you see that?"
"She has already been with another man."
"She has already betrayed you."
Fu Tianming glared at Han Zheng with red eyes.
"What are you?"
"Get away from me."
Han Zheng looked at him disdainfully.
"You can't even keep your own wife and blame me for taking her?"
Fu Tianming roared as he got up from the ground and pulled me to his side forcefully.
He said fiercely, "You are coming with me."
Han Zheng quickly stepped forward and grabbed my other arm.
"Try touching her and see what happens."
Fu Tianming shouted, "Let go."
Han Zheng sneered, "The one who should let go is you."
Fu Tianming released me and threw a punch at Han Zheng's face.
Han Zheng was hit and blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.
But he refused to back down and punched Fu Tianming back.
The two people were grappling with each other. I was so scared that I felt like my soul had left my body, and I rushed forward to try to pull them apart. But I couldn't move them at all. Tears streamed down my face.
"Stop fighting."
"Stop fighting."
The two were locked in a fierce struggle, neither willing to let go first. I was almost driven to madness with worry. Just then, Han Zheng was struck by Fu Tianming and fell to the ground. His chest hit a rock heavily. Han Zheng let out a muffled groan, his face turning pale.
I gasped and rushed to Han Zheng's side. "Are you okay?"
Han Zheng forced a smile and weakly said, "I'm fine."
"Don't worry."
Hearing him say that only made me more anxious. My tears burst forth like a flood breaking through a dam. I turned to Fu Tianming and said through gritted teeth, "Fu Tianming, are you satisfied now?"
Fu Tianming looked at me with a pale face, speechless. I coldly added, "I never want to see you again."
Fu Tianming trembled all over, looking at me in disbelief. I lowered my head and said to Han Zheng, "Let's go."
"I don't want to stay here any longer."
