"I rushed to the airport to chase stars. It's rare for the little girl to be so enthusiastic, getting herself ready early in the morning and even bringing her gear," Xu Yan said, glancing at the bowl of red oil Spicy Hot Pot in front of him. After a moment's thought, he picked up his chopsticks and went for the rice noodles instead, finding them to be a gentler option. That dish looked like it could pack quite a punch.
Lum Ming found this quite amusing and immediately chimed in, "The little girl is chasing stars? She spends every day with us and still has eyes for someone else?"
As expected, he accurately received the unspoken expression from across the table.
"Hey, I'm suddenly curious. Which star is Tongtong chasing?"
"You'll find out when she comes back," Xu Yan replied without looking up, focused on his breakfast as if he had no time to entertain Lum Ming's questions.
Well then, if there's nothing more to discuss, he might as well eat his breakfast quietly.
He noticed the neglected bowl of red oil Spicy Hot Pot on the table and felt a pang of regret. Just as he was about to dig in, he realized his mouth was already tingling from the spice, so he pushed the bowl toward the silent person across from him.
"You've only just met me."
Alright then, he doesn't eat spicy food.
"Then let's leave it for Tongtong; she loves this stuff."
"And what about Lu Yuen? Why hasn't that guy gotten up yet? He's so lazy; when there's no work, he just wastes time. You'd think living with me would have a positive influence on him."
Before he could finish his sentence, the person across from him had already stood up and left, leaving behind a cold silhouette and a warm piece of advice.
"We have a train back to Lin City at one o'clock this afternoon."
Lo Ye had no idea how long he had slept. He picked up his phone from the bedside and was shocked to see it was already 11:15.
Thinking about the team's train back to Lin City at one o'clock for an invitation from a production company to sing the OST for a drama, he remembered they needed to leave early to discuss things.
Time was already tight, so he hurriedly got himself and his luggage ready, then headed down to the restaurant to eat and check out.
When Lo Ye appeared in the restaurant with his suitcase, he saw everyone already gathered at a table, eating. Even Lu Yuen, who usually took his time, was there.
As expected, everyone was quite conscientious and had packed their luggage before coming to eat together.
Da Zuo was the first to spot Lo Ye in the restaurant. Dressed entirely in black, he stood out in the brightly lit dining area.
"Brother Ye, over here!" Da Zuo waved his arm to signal him. Lo Ye nodded in acknowledgment and then picked up a plate to choose his food.
"Good morning, Brother Ye!" Lu Yuen greeted him with a bright smile, clearly charmed by his leader's charisma as usual.
"It's noon now, you fool," Lum Ming remarked, genuinely concerned about Da Zuo's intelligence. He turned around and greeted Lo Ye with a change of expression, "Brother Ye, good afternoon!"
Xu Yan felt speechless. When his gaze met Lo Ye's, he understood they were both thinking the same thing at that moment. However, he was usually quiet and not as naturally responsive as Lo Ye.
Lo Ye sat down and scanned the room, noticing someone was missing. "Where's Tongtong? Is she still not up?"
"Brother Ye, you absolutely can't imagine it. Tongtong has gone to chase stars! Little Girl got up really early this morning and left the house," Lum Ming said with food still in his mouth.
"However, her luggage was already packed and left at the front desk."
"Ding!" Da Zuo took out his phone, and sure enough, it was a message from Tongtong.
"Well, speak of the devil, and he shall appear. Tongtong is back and asking where we are?" He didn't even look up, continuing to eat the noodles in his bowl.
Lum Ming found it strange. "Why did the little girl only send you a notification? Why didn't she send me one?"
As expected, no one answered him. He scanned the room but found no one making eye contact with him. After a long silence, just as he was about to give up and focus on his meal, Da Zuo wiped his mouth and asked him, "Do you want to know why?"
Lum Ming nodded seriously, waiting for his answer.
Unexpectedly, Da Zuo picked up the orange juice in front of him and leisurely took a sip. Looking into Lum Ming's eager eyes, he said, "Ask yourself; it's probably because she thinks I'm better."
His tone was so infuriating that Lum Ming felt like picking up a fork and jabbing it into his nose.
Fortunately,
"Hello, brothers!" A bright voice rang out, and the joy in her tone was unmistakable.
