Blue Face Hero had two settings for the Time portal, both destinations being next to the Hovercraft. Except for Aibo who returned home with the Spirit Corps, all of The Celestial Warriors safely evacuated the battlefield. 0

Everyone gathered together, checking each other's wounds. 0
"Captain, aren't you going to check the headcount?" Lu Sha was eager to share how he had just saved Dr. Xu. 0
However, everyone noticed An Xiaotian abruptly shake off Nars' hand and turn away, walking into the Hovercraft. 0

A few exchanged glances—these were two best buddies after all; even though it was Nars, he was still Liu Xuan's brother, and An Xiaotian shouldn't be acting this way. 0
Everyone followed An Xiaotian inside, only to find a large hole burned through the top of the Hovercraft. Xu Yicheng glanced at it and said to Nars, "Give me some materials." 0
Nars opened the weapon storage and pulled out a piece of blue-glowing molding material from the raw materials area, handing it to Xu Yicheng, asking, "You need tools, right?" 0
"I have them," Xu Yicheng replied, pulling out a welding gun from his backpack. "This is modified; it can shoot nails and spray high-temperature fuel." He demonstrated by igniting the nozzle. 0
"Go ahead, but be careful." 0

Everyone watched as Xu Yicheng climbed up the ladder and began to repair it skillfully. 0
The sound of An Xiaotian unlocking his armor came from the front, and everyone saw their captain step out of the armor's protection and walk up to the control panel, staring intently at the large screen. 0
Nars cautiously approached An Xiaotian, noticing he was fixated on a red dot on the screen. 0

Nars wanted to ask what he was doing but knew that An Xiaotian was extremely angry—not just any kind of anger. He dared only to stand behind him. 0
"I'll handle it," Liu Xuan said confidently about his relationship with An Xiaotian. He stepped forward and gently asked, "What are you looking at?" 0
An Xiaotian remained silent, gripping the control stick with trembling hands. Seeing this, Liu Xuan noticed that An Xiaotian's face had turned pale as he lowered his head—he had never ignored Liu Xuan, even when he was furious enough to want to hit someone; he would still manage a smile for him. 0

"Say something," Liu Xuan forced a smile. 0
"They're heading for the city," An Xiaotian finally spoke obediently, but that was all he said. 0
What An Xiaotian had just fired was a marking beam; he initially intended for his sacrifice to allow the other retreating members of The Celestial Warriors to locate Virgil. It seemed he had worried too much. 0

Just as Liu Xuan was about to speak, a small cup nearby was suddenly grabbed by An Xiaotian, and then with a loud crash, the sound of ceramic hitting metal echoed as the cup shattered. 0
Everyone fell silent, no one daring to speak as they watched their captain begin to lose control. 0
Xu Yicheng also stopped and turned to look at the now fiercely angry An Xiaotian. 0

"Retreat, retreat! All you ever think about is retreating! Do you know what happens after we retreat? Huh! Do you know?!" An Xiaotian shouted at Liu Xuan, pointing towards the city outside. 0
Liu Xuan took a fearful step back. Quickly, Nars chimed in to explain, "I'm sorry, Captain. I... truly didn't expect this, but I did it to preserve our strength." 0
"Preserve strength? We are already the world's most advanced force; how long do we need to preserve it? Until cities are destroyed one by one? What could have been resolved in the forest now forces countless unarmed citizens behind us to bear the consequences? Huh?!" 0

Nars fell silent, lowering his head. Deep down, he understood very well why An Xiaotian was so furious—historically, The Celestial Warriors had kept their operations confined to forests outside cities to protect normal societal production and people's safety. However, this retreat essentially allowed Virgil to advance into the city unopposed. 0

"Besides, what is the purpose of our alliance? To face a fleet composed of tens of thousands of elite soldiers from outer space, or the super demons that you mentioned, who slaughter half of the Divine Realm? We can't even bear to kill just a few thousand zombies; let alone save face, we want to protect Earth? What a damn daydream!" 0
"I'm not afraid of fighting, but I don't know about you all! Give you a Time Portal and each of you runs faster than a rabbit!" 0
An Xiaotian held his forehead, feeling a bit dizzy and not wanting to curse anymore. 0
He turned around and continued to watch the feedback on the radar showing the information scratch on Virgil's face. An Xiaotian noticed that Virgil was avoiding City S and City M like they were plague-ridden, heading towards the other side of the mountain. 0
Seeing An Xiaotian turn away, everyone quietly breathed a sigh of relief. Lu Sha invited Nars to sit down, and Nars nodded, taking a seat next to Lu Sha. 0
Everyone looked at Nars. He rested his head on his hand, glanced at An Xiaotian's back, and then lowered his gaze again, seemingly a bit sad. 0
Qin Weishan reached out to place a hand on Nars' shoulder but was dodged by Nars shifting away. Qin Weishan's eyes flashed with helplessness as he said, "It's fine; when he feels better, I'll talk to him." 0
"I've never seen Brother Xiaotian so angry," Lu Sha whispered behind his hand. 0
"You're not alone; none of us have seen it," Jiao An said. 0
Qin Weishan nodded in agreement: "Since coming to the military camp, this is the first time this kid has lost his temper." 0
"His anger is justified," Nars said as he relaxed his shoulders slightly. "It's my fault; it truly is my fault. I only thought about protecting everyone's lives here, but Captain An always keeps in mind the countless citizens behind him. I didn't think as thoroughly as he did; it's my mistake." 0
Nars covered his mouth, his deep moonlit eyes seemingly piercing through the Hovercraft's body. Everyone couldn't help but look at An Xiaotian, who was busy at the control panel—no one disputed Nars' words. 0
"Xiao Ling?" 0
"I'm here." In the past, Xiao Ling would sometimes drag things out with An Xiaotian, but this time she didn't dare delay for even a second. If An Xiaotian really asked Dr. Chen to take her off the mission when they returned, it wouldn't be fun at all. 0
"Draw up the future trajectory map of the marker." 0
"Understood; I'll create the trajectory prediction image for you right away." 0
The trajectory map projected in front of An Xiaotian at the Hovercraft's driver's seat as he lifted the image and turned around to show everyone. 0
"Take a look; this is what happens when you become a deserter!" 0
In the image, Virgil's trajectory pointed directly towards U City behind the mountain. 0
"I need to contact Mayor Tan Long immediately," An Xiaotian said. 0

U City 0

Although it was cloudy, it didn't seem like it was going to rain here; people strolled leisurely down the street, chatting away. 0
In the center of the pedestrian street, an outdoor concert was taking place, with people surrounding the band on stage, raising their arms in rhythm with the music. 0
The unique tranquility of folk music combined with the singer's weathered voice filled the air with ethereal and hoarse blessings; even a winter day without sunlight felt particularly warm. 0
However, amidst this bustling street lived quiet individuals. 0

The old residential building by the street has lost a few patches of paint here and there, with grayish-white and earthy yellow intertwining, telling the story of its past years. It seems that in the song, they are the ones who understand the melody best. 0

"Juan, come over and eat," Grandpa said. 0

Ming Juan turned around with a bowl of rice. Grandpa's white hair was curled into a tuft, and he gently patted the seat beside him, signaling Ming Juan to come sit down. 0

Ming Juan hesitated for a moment and shook her head. 0

"You're being disobedient." Grandpa was unhappy. "You're eating my food while running off to watch the singer outside. Just do me a favor and keep me company for a bit, okay?" 0

Ming Juan thought about it; she realized she had somewhat neglected Grandpa. She glanced out the window one last time before walking back to sit beside him. 0

Since three years ago, Ming Juan had gotten used to standing by the balcony to eat. 0

Did you think she was watching a concert? No, Ming Juan was waiting for someone, someone who once said that once he completed this task, he would return to give her a wedding. 0

This wedding had been anticipated by Ming Juan for three years. 0

"Your brother, according to Mayor Tan, should be gone," Grandpa said as he trembled while lifting his bowl, quietly savoring the aroma of the wine. "From now on, it will just be the three of us getting by together with your dad." 0

"Ah." Ming Juan had just scooped up a spoonful of soup when she froze—she felt like she should cry but only managed to utter that one word. 0

"In our family, I'm the jinx." Grandpa revealed a row of blackened yellow teeth sadly. "Starting from my generation, your grandmother died of leukemia; as for your dad, his partner died in a car accident while going out to buy medicine for me when I had a fever." 0

"Grandpa, please stop. If we're going to talk, let's talk about something nice, okay?" Ming Juan pleaded, hoping he would cease. 0

"...Your brother may not have much education, but why did he choose such a job? To guard graves. I say it's eerie; what a coincidence." Grandpa showed no signs of stopping. 0

Ming Juan had already stood up, carrying her leftover food towards the balcony. 0

"And you, just like your dad, chose someone only to lose them." 0

Ming Juan remained unmoved; her eyelid twitched slightly as she continued to stare at the road home outside. 0

"Stop looking, Juan. Miao Chengmin won't be coming back. He has left you; accept it. Life won't pause because of your sorrow." 0

Grandpa set down his bowl and chopsticks as his gaze followed the tears rolling down Ming Juan's cheek. 0

"Hurry up and eat; it won't taste good when it gets cold." 0

Grandpa took a swig from the wine bottle and sighed deeply. 0

Ming Juan pulled her gaze back to rest on the photo of herself and Miao Chengmin. In the picture, Ming Juan was joyfully riding on Miao Chengmin's back while he looked at her with affectionate eyes as they captured that moment together. 0

"You will come back to marry me, right?" 0

Scenes from the past flashed before her eyes: meeting each other, holding hands, embracing, laughing, kissing goodbye—until an explosion occurred— 0

"You won't." 0

Ming Juan and Miao Chengmin gazed at each other affectionately in the photo. 0
"But I still want to wait for you." 0
The sky. 0
People on the street watching the concert didn't notice a shadow flying overhead. The shadow began to descend rapidly, disappearing among the tall buildings. 0
"This scene feels so familiar..." 0
Miao Chengmin enjoyed the sensation of the air rushing past him, feeling as if he were sitting on a cloud like Sun Wukong; he also felt as if he were lying on a cloud, comfortably asleep... 0
"Bang!" 0
Miao Chengmin suddenly opened his eyes! 0
Now he felt that something was seriously wrong with him. 0
His back was scraping against the ground sharply, and then, due to immense inertia, he began to roll freely. 0
"Ah!" 0
Like a racing car that had flipped over, Miao Chengmin rolled through the air at least a dozen times before finally landing headfirst on the ground, motionless. 0
Miao Chengmin looked around and found that he had landed squarely in an alley. He tried to get up but couldn't move at all. Miao Chengmin lifted his head to look at his lower body— 0
There was nothing there. 0
This was bad. 0
Miao Chengmin silently stared at his empty lower half and his upper half split by a beam of light, estimating that he would have to lie here for several days before fully recovering. 0
A few stray cats sat on a trash can, staring at Miao Chengmin with their turquoise eyes. 0
"Uh, hello?" Miao Chengmin raised an eyebrow and asked. 0
But the cats remained motionless, staring at him. 0
"Just don't eat me." 0
Miao Chengmin turned his face away and saw a line of text on the wall beside him: 0
U City Unified Lock Service, phone... 0
"U City?" 0
Miao Chengmin suddenly thought of Ming Juan. 0
