"Because you are our only hope."
I said sincerely.
Ouyang Xue fell silent.
She was thinking, weighing the pros and cons.
I didn't know if she would agree, but I had to try my best regardless.
"Alright, I'll help you."
She finally spoke.
The stone that had been hanging in my heart finally dropped.
With Ouyang Xue's help, our plan could be implemented smoothly.
"Tomorrow night, we will meet at the usual place."
That evening, we met again in a secluded corner of the library.
Moyuan brought an old map of the academy, marking all the entrances and exits of the secret passages.
I brought new clues about the Sacred Artifact.
"What did you find?"
Moyuan looked at me with curiosity.
"I found an ancient diary that recorded a hidden chamber within the academy."
I said slowly.
"Do you think the Sacred Artifact is in that chamber?"
Moyuan looked at me excitedly.
"There's a good chance."
I nodded.
"Then let's go check it out tonight."
Moyuan was a bit impatient.
"Wait a minute..."
I stopped him.
"We need to plan this out; we can't let Lei Zhen find out."
I said softly.
Moyuan nodded and fell silent.
...
We carefully made our way through the library, avoiding Lei Zhen's patrol route.
When we reached a wall, I pointed to a stone brick.
Together with Moyuan, we moved the stone brick aside, revealing a mechanism inside.
Moyuan pressed the mechanism, and the wall trembled for a moment before slowly opening.
A set of stone steps leading down appeared before us.
"What is this?"
Moyuan looked at me in confusion.
"This is the road of Star Guidance," I said slowly.
"We found it."
Moyuan looked at me, his eyes sparkling with light.
I nodded without speaking.
We walked down the stone steps and came to an ancient door.
The door was carved with intricate patterns, filled with a mysterious aura.
Moyuan and I exchanged a glance and slowly pushed open the large door.
Behind the door was an ancient secret chamber.
The chamber was dimly lit, with only faint moonlight streaming through the windows.
In the center of the chamber was a stone platform.
On the platform was a groove.
It was empty.
"Sacred Artifact?" Moyuan looked at the groove, a hint of excitement flashing in his eyes.
I nodded.
"It seems the Sacred Artifact was indeed placed here, but..." I paused and didn't continue.
"What's wrong?" Moyuan looked at me in confusion.
"The Sacred Artifact has already been moved," I said softly.
"Then our clue is cut off?" Moyuan seemed a bit disappointed.
I shook my head, "Not necessarily."
"Look, there are new scratches on the edge of the groove," I pointed to the edge of the groove and said to Moyuan.
"This indicates that the Sacred Artifact was moved not long ago."
Moyuan's eyes brightened: "So we still have a chance to find it."
I nodded.
"We must act quickly."
"Otherwise, if we are discovered by Underworld, it will be too late."
We continued to search for the traces of the Sacred Artifact along the secret passage. It was pitch black inside, with only the sound of our footsteps echoing. Suddenly, a cold wind blew past us from behind.
"Do you feel that?" I stopped and looked around cautiously.
"What?" Moyuan asked, looking at me in confusion.
"It seems like something is getting closer." I listened intently and whispered.
"You heard it too?" Moyuan's expression turned serious.
"It's the Underworld." I said in a low voice. "It seems to have discovered us."
"We must leave immediately." Moyuan grabbed my hand and quickened our pace. But it was too late.
In the darkness, a deep buzzing sound emerged, as if something was awakening.
"It seems you have found your way here after all." The voice of the Underworld echoed in the passage, making it impossible to tell from which direction it came.
"This place is..." Moyuan and I looked around, suddenly realizing that the passage had transformed into a vast underground hall.
