"Dad, I can't give up on Zhao Yuran."
I stood beside Su Yingqing, my voice calm but firm.
"Uncle, I understand your concerns, but I also cannot give up on Su Yingqing."
"What do you think you are?" Su Yingqing's Father snorted coldly, looking at me as if I were an insignificant person.
"Everything you have is given by me, and I can take it back at any time."
Faced with such a threat, I felt no fear; instead, my resolve only strengthened.
I looked deeply at Su Yingqing and said slowly, "I can lose everything, but I cannot lose Su Yingqing."
"You..." Su Yingqing's Father was so angry he couldn't speak.
At that moment, Su Yingqing's Mother spoke up, her voice cold and hard, just like her husband's.
"Su Yingqing, don't forget that everything you have is given by the family. Without the family, you are nothing."
Su Yingqing's face instantly turned pale; her lips trembled as if she wanted to say something but ultimately remained silent.
I knew her heart was filled with struggle and pain; after all, these were her biological parents. No matter how resolute she was inside, she would still feel hurt and helpless.
I held her hand tightly and whispered, "Don't be afraid; I will always be with you."
Su Yingqing's eyes turned red as she looked deeply at me and nodded.
The Su Family Parents watched us, their gazes crossing as if reaching some sort of consensus.
Mr. Su looked at Su Yingqing with a calm yet authoritative tone.
"Come with me."
After saying this, he and Madam Su turned and walked toward the Su Family's direction.
Su Yingqing held my hand tightly, her voice trembling slightly.
"What should we do? Will they do something to me..."
I patted the back of her hand gently to comfort her.
"Don't be afraid; I will always be with you."
We followed behind the Su Family Parents in silence, the atmosphere heavy and oppressive.
Upon entering the Su Family's residence, the Su Family Parents led us to the study, where the atmosphere was tense and heavy. Madam Su looked at us, her gaze filled with complexity.
"Zhao Yuran, do you know why we called you here?"
I shook my head, a sense of unease creeping into my heart. Madam Su glanced at Mr. Su before turning back to me, her voice calm yet icy.
"You are our biological daughter."
I stared at them in shock, momentarily unable to process what I had just heard. Su Yingqing also looked stunned; she gazed at me, a flicker of complexity in her eyes. I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself.
"What you mean is..."
Mr. Su locked eyes with me, his tone cold.
"Your identity is given by us; you must serve the family's interests. This is your responsibility."
My heart sank suddenly, and my voice trembled slightly.
"You want me to marry someone else?"
Madam Su nodded, her voice steady.
"This is your duty as a daughter of the Su Family."
I shook my head firmly, my voice resolute.
"No, I won't do it."
Mr. Su let out a cold laugh, his tone dripping with disdain.
"You have no say in this; the family's interests come above all else."
I looked at them, my heart filled with anger.
"Do you really care about me? Or do you just see me as a tool?"
Mr. Su stared at me coldly, his voice devoid of any warmth.
"Your identity doesn't matter; what matters is what you can do for the family." My heart sank to the bottom as I looked at the two people in front of me, feeling an overwhelming sense of unfamiliarity. "Do you really not care about your own daughter?"
