The jade-like glow gradually faded, and a figure finally became clear to everyone present.
It was the size of a galloping horse, entirely resembling jade. It had four limbs, elongated with claws that split into five fingers. Its neck was adorned with whiskers, shining snow-white. Its face resembled that of a lion but more closely resembled a Pixiu. It bore a single horn on its head, and its entire body radiated light. There were no scales or fur; instead, it was enveloped in white mist, standing atop clouds.
In Chinese history, the earliest mention of Bai Ze can be found in the "Baopuzi." It is said that the Yellow Emperor encountered it by the shores of the East Sea and obtained the "Bai Ze Spirit Beast Diagram," which contained descriptions of one thousand five hundred and twenty types of spirits and deities.
Additionally, records in "Tongdian," "Tang Shu," and "Kaiyuan Divination" also mention Bai Ze, though details are sparse. It is known to be an auspicious beast, knowledgeable about astronomy and geography, as well as mundane matters. It could see the past and understand the future, speaking human language and illuminating all things. Encountering it would turn misfortune into fortune, causing malevolent spirits to retreat...
Even in the detailed accounts of the Embalmer lineage, Bai Ze is regarded as one of the top divine beasts. In the Primeval era, it could be considered supreme!
"The Demon Emperor Bai Ze is indeed impressive, commanding respect. However, what you did to that young man earlier hardly seems befitting of an auspicious beast!"
The man in the Azure Robe clasped his fists again, his eyelids slightly lowered.
