I stepped forward, rising on my toes.
Xiao Cheng suddenly reached out and pressed down on my shoulder.
In the next moment, he leaned down and kissed me.
I was caught off guard, kissed squarely by him.
His kiss was intense and deep, our lips and teeth meeting, tongues entwined, so domineering it felt like he was trying to take away my breath.
His arms tightened around me, forcing my body to press closely against his.
I could even feel a reaction from somewhere on his body.
Xiao Cheng...
I was left dazed by his kiss, instinctively closing my eyes.
When I came to my senses, Xiao Cheng had already released me.
His eyes were slightly red with desire.
He stared at me for a while before suddenly leaning down to place a kiss on my forehead.
"Duo'er, I'm leaving."
I smiled at him, "Mm, goodbye."
In the morning, Yong Nan had arranged to meet me.
The location was set by her, at a café.
I arrived early and waited for a full half hour before she finally showed up.
She was dressed elegantly, her makeup flawless, creating a stark contrast with my pale complexion and lack of energy as a patient.
She sat down across from me, took off her sunglasses, revealing her beautiful face.
I looked at her, and she looked back at me.
The atmosphere was somewhat subtle.
Yong Nan tossed her hair and smiled at me, "Would you like something to drink? The iced Americano here is great; it's Xiao Cheng's favorite."
I didn't say anything.
Yong Nan shrugged, "Sorry, I forgot you don't drink coffee."
She raised her hand to call the waiter, ordered an iced Americano for herself, and a fruit tea for me.
I stared at her for a while and said lightly, "You didn't invite me here just to talk about this, did you?"
Yong Nan blinked, "Shangguan Yunduo, you've been married to Xiao Cheng for five years; you wouldn't really not know what he likes to drink, would you?"
I laughed, "What does it matter if you know? Do you really think Xiao Cheng would like a promiscuous woman?"
"You!" Yong Nan's expression changed, a flicker of anger flashing in her eyes.
"What?" I raised an eyebrow. "Did I say something wrong?"
Yong Nan snorted coldly, lifted her chin, and said arrogantly, "Shangguan Yunduo, you're jealous of me, aren't you?"
"No." I shook my head. "I just dislike you."
Yong Nan's expression stiffened.
I slowly said, "Yong Nan, you really are quite annoying; you make me feel uncomfortable."
"You deliberately showed up at the banquet, intentionally got close to Xiao Cheng, and purposely said these things in front of me just to provoke my jealousy."
"But Yong Nan, you're underestimating me and also underestimating Xiao Cheng."
"What kind of person Xiao Cheng is, I know better than you," I said coldly, staring at her.
"And also, don't try to be clever in the future. I've seen through your little schemes long ago."
Yong Nan was left speechless by my retort.
I picked up the fruit tea in front of me and took a small sip, my tone calm: "Xiao Cheng doesn't like overly proactive women. Acting like this will only turn him off."
Yong Nan gritted her teeth: "You—"
"What about me?" I interrupted her, "You, Yong Nan, don't even have the qualifications to compete with me."
"You are truly pathetic," I sighed, "You may be quite pretty, but why isn't your brain up to par?"
My words completely enraged Yong Nan.
She slammed the table and said sharply, "Shangguan Yunduo, who do you think you are to lecture me?"
"I'm lecturing you, so what?"
I raised the fruit tea in my hand and mercilessly splashed it all over her face.
