I was being chased by a group of men in black. At eighteen years old, I had already been through countless battles. 0

It wasn't so easy to catch me. 0

As they pursued me, I leisurely ran away. When they fell behind, I would wait for a moment. 0

I tangled with them like this to gather more information. 0

Speaking of the connection between us, it all started when I saved someone. 0

I encountered them while rescuing a person. They harmed others, while I saved lives. 0

From then on, we became adversaries. 0

But they were cunning; I couldn't find their origins. 0

I wanted to destroy them to prevent more people from getting hurt. 0

Yet, they were not only clever but also very cautious. 0

We clashed multiple times, and whenever they found themselves at a disadvantage, they would run away faster than rabbits, disappearing without a trace. 0

How infuriating. 0

So I changed my strategy. 0

We passed through one dream after another, with them hot on my heels. As we went through one dream, a pair of bony hands grabbed me and hid me in a pitch-black darkness. 0

This darkness was as thick as ink. I stood still and remained silent. 0

I wasn't afraid of retaliation, but I couldn't let innocent people get involved. 0

Losing track of me, they would surely search this area thoroughly. 0

It was very quiet outside. 0

Until a pair of hands pulled me out of the darkness. 0

Only then did I see her face clearly. 0

So thin. 0

There was almost no flesh on her bones. 0

Her body was covered in bruises and scars, some areas even had scabbed wounds. 0

"You!" 0

"They have left, you should go home and be careful." 0
"I..." 0
"Don't worry, just go back." She smiled brightly. But my heart ached. 0
I recognized her; I had seen her when I awakened my abilities at the age of six. 0
My profession is quite special; I am a Dream Traveler. 0
I can enter other people's dreams while I sleep. 0
I first discovered this ability when I was six years old, during a night when I couldn't sleep due to a stomachache. 0
That night, I lay in bed, listening to the silence of the night outside, when suddenly, I heard a scream. 0
It was the scream of a girl, filled with fear. 0
Curiously, I opened my eyes and found myself in an unfamiliar environment. 0
I saw the girl; she was curled up in a corner, holding her head with her hands, trembling all over. 0
Her fear pierced through the silence of the night. 0
It awakened the sympathy deep within me. 0
I walked over and gently patted her shoulder; she looked up at me with tear-filled eyes. 0
"Don't be afraid, I'm here to help you," I whispered comfortingly. 0
She nodded and tried to grab my hand. 0
But she couldn't reach it. 0
At that moment, I felt an unprecedented sense of helplessness. 0
I could only watch as she cried in front of me. 0
In that moment, I realized that in dreams, I was merely an observer. 0
Since then, I found myself frequently traveling through dreams; sometimes it was familiar people, sometimes strangers. 0
I wanted to save them, but I couldn't. 0
I hated that feeling. 0
So I searched for various materials in the library and scoured the internet for information. 0
I tried all kinds of rumors. 0
Through countless travels and trials. 0

I can finally hold someone else's hand in my dreams and pick things up. 0

Finding a way, I am becoming more adept at controlling my actions in the dream world. I have helped some people and obtained some useful items. 0

However, I have not encountered that girl again. Although she was dressed in rags back then, she was still healthy. Now, though... 0

These years have been so difficult for her, and now that I have gained some abilities, I cannot ignore it. I remember her location. I didn't have the power before, but now I can. 0

Some people, even in the mud, still bring warmth to others. They are all kind-hearted individuals who should not suffer so much. 0

I prepared my tools and set out to find that girl. I tried to help her escape from the recurring nightmares. But unexpectedly, I couldn't dispel her dark energy. 0

Throughout the process, Lin Xiao kept laughing and reassured me that it was okay. The basic methods were ineffective, so I had to delve deeper into the dream. 0

Entering the depths of Lin Xiao's dream, I discovered that her dreams were chaotic—strange and absurd. 0

I saw her father committing domestic violence against her. Lin Xiao's Father was wielding a stick, mercilessly striking her body. 0

"You worthless piece of trash, you money-wasting fool! This is what you get for being disobedient." 0

"I'll make sure you never come in first." 0

"You're the reason I can't get a scholarship." 0

"You're the reason you look so flashy." 0

"You're the reason..." 0

Lin Xiao's Father became more and more agitated, shouting louder with each insult. 0

Lin Xiao curled up on the ground, gritting his teeth and remaining silent. 0

"What are you hitting the child for? If you want to hit someone, hit me instead!" Lin Xiao's Mother cried out as she rushed over, shielding Lin Xiao on the ground. 0

"Get away, you filthy woman! If you block me again, I'll hit you too." Lin Xiao's Father spat, downing the rest of his drink and smashing the bottle on the ground. 0

The bottle shattered, glass shards scattering everywhere. 0

"If you hit the child again, I'll fight you!" Lin Xiao's Mother stood protectively in front of Lin Xiao, staring defiantly at Lin Xiao's Father. 0

"You filthy woman, you've gone too far." Lin Xiao's Father grabbed Lin Xiao's Mother's hair and slammed her head against the wall. 0

Once. 0

Twice. 0

Lin Xiao's Mother's forehead was already oozing blood. 0

"Please, don't hit my mom," Lin Xiao pleaded, hugging his father's leg and crying. 0

"Get away." Lin Xiao's Father kicked Lin Xiao aside. 0

Lin Xiao's body curled up like a shrimp, trembling on the ground. 0

"Stop hitting him, you'll kill someone," Lin Xiao's Grandmother couldn't bear to watch and stepped forward to intervene. 0

"This is none of your business," Lin Xiao's Father said, slapping Grandmother across the face. 0

Grandmother fell to the ground, a trickle of blood running from the corner of her mouth. 0

"Nobody is getting out of here unscathed today," Lin Xiao's Father roared, grabbing a bottle from the table and throwing it at Lin Xiao's Mother. 0

Blood flowed down Lin Xiao's Mother's forehead. 0

"I'm sorry, don't hit my mom, don't hit my mom," Lin Xiao struggled to get up and clung to his father's leg again. 0

"Get away." Lin Xiao's Father lifted his foot and stomped down towards Lin Xiao's head. 0

Blood streamed down Lin Xiao's head as his body went limp and fell to the ground. 0

"Child's father, child's father," Lin Xiao's Mother cried out. 0

"Shut up, you filthy woman," Lin Xiao's Father said, grabbing Lin Xiao's Mother's hair and continuing to slam her against the wall. 0

Lin Xiao's Mother struggled a few times before going still. 0

"Dead?" Lin Xiao's Father released his grip, and Lin Xiao's Mother slumped softly to the floor. 0

"Mom!" Lin Xiao shouted as he got up from the ground and ran towards Lin Xiao's Mother. 0

"Mom, wake up, please wake up." Lin Xiao cried out, holding his mother's lifeless body. 0

"How unfortunate." Lin Xiao's Father glanced at the body on the ground and turned to leave. 0

"Grandma, please save my mom, save my mom." Lin Xiao pleaded, clutching his grandmother's clothes and crying out. 0

"What a sin, what a sin." The grandmother shook her head and sighed as she looked at the body on the ground. 0

The dream began to turn dark and eerie. I realized I couldn't take action, but I didn't want to give up. Lin Xiao was born in darkness, yet his heart was directed towards the light. This beauty, I wanted to protect. 0

I discovered some strange runes. Indeed, effort was worthwhile. These runes were cold and unusual. Yet I felt no adverse effects; I could sense the excitement in my body. These runes were beneficial to me. 0

After coming into contact with these runes, I tried to dispel the darkness for Lin Xiao. But those runes remained indifferent, even deepening the darkness and expanding its reach. If this continued, it would inevitably make Lin Xiao's dream more chaotic. She had already suffered greatly; if I sacrificed her well-being for the unknown benefits of the runes... 0
