On the day of the speech, I had prepared early. Zhang Wei and Sister Liu accompanied me to the venue. I didn't wear any makeup or jewelry; I simply tied my long hair back. Holding my manuscript and USB drive, today I was going to expose Li Hao's true colors here.
Li Hao seemed to realize the seriousness of the situation and began to make a final counterattack. Before my speech, he published an article titled "My Confession." In the article, he repeatedly emphasized his innocence while implying that I was untrustworthy, trying to salvage his image. His article did attract some attention, but after everything that had happened, public trust in him had already wavered.
On our way to the venue, a friend called me and informed me that Li Hao was looking for evidence to prove that I had hired online trolls to create a buzz, attempting to claim that my accusations were slanderous. I chuckled softly but said nothing. Li Hao, you are truly desperate if you resort to such tactics.
Zhang Wei was driving as we headed toward the venue. I had intentionally set out an hour early, but traffic conditions were still poor. There were unusually many cars on the road, and we encountered a major traffic jam. By the time I arrived at the venue, I was already half an hour late.
As soon as I got out of the car, Zhang Wei and Sister Liu caught up with me. "Lin, look," Zhang Wei handed me his phone, which displayed a series of negative comments and attacks directed at me.
"Where is Lin Suqin? Is she scared?"
"She must be feeling guilty; that's why she's hesitating to show up."
"Does she even dare to appear? With so much dirt on her, she should be hiding away crying."
I glanced at Zhang Wei and handed my phone back to him. These people were all individuals who did not want me to show up. The more they acted this way, the more it proved their guilt. I took a deep breath and looked at Zhang Wei and Sister Liu.
"Let's go in," I said.
Zhang Wei and Sister Liu exchanged glances before turning to me.
"President Lin, are you really ready?"
I nodded.
"President Lin, we will always support you," Zhang Wei and Sister Liu said, their eyes filled with determination as they looked at me.
I looked at them gratefully and nodded in response.
The three of us walked into the venue together, and I was guided by the staff to the backstage to wait. At that moment, negative comments online intensified.
"Why hasn't Lin Suqin arrived yet? Is she running away?"
"She must be guilty, that's why she dares not show up."
"If she dares to appear, I will confront her face to face."
These comments were all aimed at preventing me from giving my speech on stage. I was not swayed by these malicious attacks. I took a deep breath, adjusted my mindset, and prepared to go on stage.
Time passed second by second, and finally, it was my turn to take the stage. I took a deep breath and walked up to the podium. Below me, countless audience members were watching; their eyes held both anticipation and skepticism.
I scanned the room and then slowly spoke.
"Hello everyone, my name is Lin Suqin, and I am a professional in the entertainment industry."
"Today, I stand here not to clear my name, nor to tarnish anyone else's."
"I just want to share my story."
I began to recount my experiences, from being initially drawn to Li Hao, to being abandoned by him, and then being slandered by him, which forced me into a corner.
My emotions also resonated with everyone present.
