"Dear, the stars are here. Let's go, I'll take you up." Cheng Haifeng greeted us in his business attire, and I saw his name tag read: Cheng Haifeng, Deputy General Manager.
"I didn't expect that, Director Cheng," I teased him on purpose.
"I'm just a gopher, nothing more. Come on, stop chatting; I have a meeting soon." We followed him as he swiped his card and walked to the executive elevator. He pressed the button for the 14th floor. "Fanxing, I'll first take you to the HR department for your interview. After you finish, call Yun to have her come down and pick you up from the president's elevator; only a few of us can use this one."
"Okay." The elevator doors opened to a crowd of people jostling at the entrance, which surprised all three of us. "Are there really this many people applying for the data entry position?" Zhang Yun asked incredulously with her mouth agape.
"I didn't expect so many people either. Hey, everyone, make way!"

We couldn't squeeze in at all and were stuck at the elevator entrance. In frustration, Cheng Haifeng made a call: "Hello, I'm blocked at your elevator entrance; what's going on?" After hanging up, a portly man stepped out from inside, followed by several female staff members who began directing the applicants into the HR department's large conference room. Cheng Haifeng huffed and led us into the HR department with Zhao Gang following behind. The female staff members whispered among themselves as we walked past.
"Who are these two girls? They're here for interviews? And Director Cheng is personally escorting them?" "Director Cheng never comes to HR; he must be doing this for them. They must be something special." "Director Cheng is so handsome."
Zhang Yun and I exchanged speechless glances and couldn't be bothered to respond to them. Cheng Haifeng asked Zhao Gang ahead of us, "Who's in charge of interviews today?"
"Yes, Director Cheng, it's Xiao Li." Cheng Haifeng slightly turned his head and gave Zhao Gang a look: "Director Shen instructed that Yue Fanxing should be directly hired; you all can handle the rest."
Upon hearing this, Zhao Gang broke into a cold sweat; it turned out this person was from the president's office. He quickly nodded in response: "I understand, I understand; don't worry."
When we reached Zhao Gang's office door, Cheng Haifeng stopped and said to me, "Fanxing, this is Zhao Gang, Deputy Director of HR. He will take you for your interview; the rest is up to you." With that, he took Zhang Yun's hand and left.
I took a deep breath and put on a professional smile: "Hello, Deputy Director Zhao. I'm Yue Fanxing; I look forward to your guidance." Zhao Gang hurriedly welcomed me into the adjacent reception room. "Miss Yue, hello! Please rest here for a moment while I prepare for the interview since I'm also one of the main examiners. In about 15 minutes when it's your turn, I'll arrange someone to take you over. Hey, Xiao Ke, bring Miss Yue a cup of coffee."
"Sure, thank you."
I sat anxiously in the reception room waiting for my interview; I had never felt fifteen minutes drag on so long until that cup of coffee was empty. Just then, Xiao Ke lightly knocked twice before entering. "Miss Yue, I'm here to take you to your interview."
"Okay, thank you." I stood up and followed Xiao Ke to the small conference room next to the large meeting room. "Miss Yue, just knock before going in."
