I walked into the house with my luggage and placed it in the corner of the living room. Then I lay down on the sofa, reflecting on everything that had happened today, feeling as if I were dreaming. At that moment, the doorbell rang. I got up to open the door and saw Shen Yulin standing at the entrance, holding a box.
"This is for you," he said, handing me the box. "I forgot to give it to you earlier." I took the box with confusion and opened it to find a beautiful pair of high heels inside.
"The ones you liked when we went shopping last time. I specifically asked Zhang Yun about your size. Tomorrow is your first day at work; you'll find them useful," he explained.
Seeing his firm attitude, I didn't refuse any longer and accepted the shoes. He smiled, "Get some rest; you have work tomorrow."
With that, he turned and left again. I watched his figure disappear into the elevator, feeling an indescribable emotion in my heart. Should I really forgive him so easily?
Forget it; I'll just let things take their course.
That night, I slept soundly, unsure whether it was because of the high heels or his promise. Last night, I was immersed in dreams, completely unaware of everything happening outside. Even when a sudden storm hit in the middle of the night, the fierce wind and rain seemed unable to wake me from my slumber.
It wasn't until the next morning that sunlight streamed through the window and fell on my face, gently waking me up. As I opened my eyes, I instinctively looked towards the window and was surprised to find that the small potted plants that had been neatly arranged there were now toppled over in disarray.
After getting up and washing up, I grabbed a quick bite to eat, tidied up the windowsill, changed my clothes, and headed out.

On my first day at work, I felt both excited and nervous. Walking into the HR department, I saw everyone busy at work. "Excuse me, is Miss Yue here?" a female staff member at the front desk asked.
"That's me; hello. I'm here to report for duty today."
"Great! Please fill out your personal information here. Your access card has already been prepared. After filling out the form, please take the elevator to the 20th floor for reporting."
"Okay, thank you."
"Welcome to Chengxing."
"I look forward to working with you." After saying that, she handed me an access card and a meal card. I carefully filled out my personal information and handed it back to her before taking the elevator to the 20th floor.
I walked up to the information processing department's door, took a deep breath, and gently knocked. A voice from inside said, "Come in." I pushed open the door and entered the office. A young and handsome man looked up at me with a hint of surprise in his eyes.
"Hello, I'm the new employee Yue Fanxing," I introduced myself with a smile.
"Hello, I'm Lu Yi, the manager of the information processing department." He stood up and extended his hand toward me. I shook his hand and felt a warm energy in his grip. His smile was charming enough to make my eyebrows raise slightly.
"Welcome to our department, Fanxing. I hope you can quickly adapt to our work environment," Lu Yi said.
"I will do my best; thank you, Manager Lu." I nodded in response. He pointed to an empty desk nearby, "That's your workstation. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me or any other colleagues."
I walked over to my desk, set down my bag, and began organizing my items. At that moment, Lu Yi approached me and handed me a document.
"This is your task for today; get familiar with the company's business processes and system operations. If you have any questions, feel free to come find me."
I took the document with gratitude and anticipation filling my heart. Sitting at my workstation with a pile of documents and materials before me represented challenges I would face in the future. Taking a deep breath, I told myself to work hard and quickly adapt to this new work environment.
Before I knew it, lunchtime arrived amidst all the busyness. Lu Yi came over: "Fanxing, the cafeteria is on the 3rd floor; would you like me to take you there?" Glancing at the time, I realized it was already 12:30 PM; I quickly stood up: "I lost track of time! Thank you, Manager Lu; I'll take you up on that."
Upon reaching the cafeteria on the 3rd floor, what greeted me first was a spacious and bright dining area where neatly arranged tables and chairs created a clean and comfortable atmosphere. The air was filled with various delicious aromas that made one's mouth water. Looking at the food counter filled with an array of dishes was dazzling—vibrant vegetables, fragrant meats, exquisite desserts—everything one could desire was there. The chefs were busy in the kitchen with spatulas flying around as they cooked delicious meals. Colleagues either quietly enjoyed their meals or engaged in soft conversations; an overall warm atmosphere enveloped the cafeteria. The cleanliness of the cafeteria was also impressive—the floors were spotless and tables were dust-free—making it easy for everyone to eat comfortably.
