"Mr. Lin."
A middle-aged man approached with a wine glass in hand, smiling as he said, "I've heard so much about you."
I quickly replied, "Not at all, you flatter me."
The middle-aged man continued, "I'm very interested in your 'Sky Garden' project. I wonder if you'd like to discuss it?"
My eyes lit up. "Of course! What are your thoughts?"
He said, "We have a rule here: the amount invested must correspond to the returns. I hope Mr. Lin understands this."
I paused for a moment and replied, "I understand your point, but I insist that the 'Sky Garden' project must be a green and sustainable initiative, not just a money-making venture."
The middle-aged man was taken aback for a moment, then laughed, "Good! Mr. Lin certainly has the spirit. Let's discuss this in detail another day."
I sat at my desk, covered with blueprints and documents.
My phone, resting on the edge of the desk, vibrated. I picked it up to see a message from Su Wan.
"Dear, I'm going on a business trip to attend an art exhibition and won't be able to contact you for a while. Remember to think of me!"
Su Wan and I had been together for six years, and our relationship had always been stable.
Although we occasionally argued over small matters, overall, our emotional foundation was very solid; we had never experienced a lack of communication. A hint of unease surged within me, but I brushed it aside.
I forced myself to refocus on the project. This was a critical moment for it; I couldn't afford to be distracted.

In another city, Su Wan stood in front of the art exhibition, gazing at the paintings hanging on the wall, her heart filled with excitement and anticipation.
These were all her hard work.
"Su Wan, this is the best time for you to showcase your talent," Chen Feng encouraged, standing beside her.
Su Wan bit her lip, feeling hesitant. She knew she should let go of her feelings for Lin Xiang; after all, he couldn't provide her with what she wanted. She needed love, material support, and most importantly, art. And Chen Feng could offer her all of that.
"Alright, stop thinking about it," Chen Feng said, taking her hand gently. "Didn't you say that what you need is passion and freedom? Can Lin Xiang give you that? He can't even provide you with basic living security."
Su Wan felt a pang in her heart. She knew Chen Feng was speaking the truth. Although Lin Xiang was a hardworking person, he didn't have a solid financial foundation. She didn't want to live a life of hardship forever.
"Let's go, Su Wan," Chen Feng urged as he led her deeper into the art exhibition. "Don't look back."
Su Wan remained silent for a moment before nodding.

I was focused on my work when suddenly I heard my phone ring. I picked it up and glanced at the screen; it was an unfamiliar number.
"Hello?"
"Hello, may I speak to Mr. Lin Xiang?"
"This is he. Who is this?"
"I am a staff member from the Environmental Protection Agency. Regarding the 'Sky Garden' project proposal you submitted..."
"Someone has reported you for violating regulations. Are you aware of this?"
My expression immediately darkened.
"What did you say?"
"The 'Sky Garden' project proposal you submitted has been reported for violations. We will conduct an investigation soon, so please be prepared."
I was so angry that I trembled all over.
I had been preparing for this project for over six months, and now it was finally about to launch, yet someone chose this moment to report me?
This was clearly a deliberate attempt to sabotage me!
"Who reported me?"
I asked angrily.
On the other end of the phone, there was only a formal response: "I'm sorry, the report was made anonymously. We will investigate as soon as possible and provide you with a response. Please be patient."
