Zhao Can pushed open the door to the restaurant's second-floor terrace and walked in with Jiang Yuan. The terrace was illuminated by only a few small lights, with a small table placed in the center. Feng Hongyang and You Xinyi were sitting together by the railing. Jiang Yuan looked at their backs, her steps faltering. 0

Zhao Can turned her head to look at her, suddenly smiled, and casually turned on the terrace's bright lights. You Xinyi and Feng Hongyang turned back at the sound. Zhao Can looked at Jiang Yuan and grinned mischievously, "Jiang Yuan, I mentioned before that my uncle sees you as a stand-in, right?" Saying this, she walked up to the two of them and said to You Xinyi, "Auntie, this is the stand-in you were looking for." 0

You Xinyi's gaze flickered over Jiang Yuan before shifting to Feng Hongyang, her brows slightly furrowed, "What do you mean by that?" Feng Hongyang looked at Zhao Can, his eyes carrying a warning: "Children shouldn't meddle in adult matters." 0

"Why can't I meddle?" Zhao Can retorted defiantly. "You brought this woman here to please Auntie; why shouldn't I care?" 0

"Enough," You Xinyi gently tapped the table. "Stop talking." 0

"Auntie," Zhao Can said with a wronged expression, "I'm just standing up for you." 0

"It's fine," You Xinyi smiled to reassure her. "Your uncle is just trying to make me happy." 0

Zhao Can huffed and glared at Jiang Yuan, "Now you know your worth, right?" 0

Jiang Yuan watched the scene unfold and felt as if she had been slapped in public by Zhao Can's words. She clenched her fists tightly and looked at Feng Hongyang, her voice trembling, "Is what she said true?" 0

Feng Hongyang looked at her, his expression shifting slightly as he raised his glass to take a sip of wine without answering. 0

"I'm asking you!" Jiang Yuan suddenly shouted, tears welling in her eyes. She stared at Feng Hongyang as tears streamed down her cheeks. 0

Feng Hongyang looked at her, his expression stiffening. Jiang Yuan took a deep breath and stepped toward him. 0

Seeing this, Zhao Can quickly stepped forward to block her: "Hey, what are you doing?" 0

Ignoring Zhao Can, Jiang Yuan walked straight up to Feng Hongyang and looked him in the eye, enunciating each word: "Do you see me as a stand-in?" 0

Feng Hongyang regarded her with a slight frown, impatience flashing in his eyes: "Don't you think you're acting?" 0

"What did you say?" Jiang Yuan was taken aback. 0

Feng Hongyang looked at her with a calm tone: "Didn't I give you a bank card?" 0

Jiang Yuan was stunned. 0
Feng Hongyang looked at her, his tone indifferent: "Weren't you in it for the money?" 0
Jiang Yuan stared at him, her mind blank. 0
Feng Hongyang continued to gaze at her, sneering: "What are you pretending for now?" 0
Jiang Yuan looked at him, her lips trembling, unable to utter a word. 0
Feng Hongyang's expression remained cold as he said: "If you want to keep acting, then act well. If you don't want to anymore, just get lost." 0
Jiang Yuan looked at him, a sharp pain piercing her heart. 0
She stared at him, picked up the glass on the table, and smashed it hard onto the floor. 0
The glass shattered, fragments flying everywhere. 0
Feng Hongyang frowned and looked at her: "What are you throwing a tantrum about now?" 0
Jiang Yuan gazed at him, her eyes red: "Why? Why are you treating me like this?" 0
Feng Hongyang looked at her, his brow furrowed, a hint of annoyance flashing in his eyes: "You are simply unreasonable." 0
Jiang Yuan looked at him, tears streaming down her face: "You treat me like a substitute; what do you really think of me?" 0
Feng Hongyang stared at her, his expression emotionless: "What do you think you are?" 0
Jiang Yuan looked at him, her heart sinking. 0
Feng Hongyang stood up and pointed at her: "You are nothing but my plaything." 0
Jiang Yuan looked at him, her body stiffening. 0
Feng Hongyang's gaze turned icy: "You need to disappear from my sight right now." 0
Jiang Yuan looked at him, her eyes red as she turned and rushed out the door. 0
She stood by the roadside, looking up at the pitch-black sky, tears uncontrollably streaming down her face. 0
Why? 0
Why treat her this way? 0
What had she done wrong? 0
... 0
After the internship ended, Jiang Yuan successfully entered Silver Star Securities' investment banking department. 0
She chose the consumer group and interned alongside the team members. 0
Her tasks were simple: searching for data, organizing information, and learning how to write research reports. 0
Liu Qi was still her team leader. 0
He guided her, showing her different research reports and teaching her how to analyze their structure and underlying logic. 0

Jiang Yuan followed Liu Qi, learning bit by bit. She didn't want to think about anything else; she just wanted to focus on her internship and school. She didn't want to have any more ties with Feng Hongyang. She didn't want to make herself sad anymore. However, she didn't expect to encounter Feng Hongyang again. 0

It happened in a shopping mall. Jiang Yuan was doing project research with her team members and had just walked out of the building when she ran into Feng Hongyang. He was wearing a black coat, standing on the steps, looking at her. Jiang Yuan's footsteps faltered, and she stopped. 0

Feng Hongyang looked at her, his brow slightly furrowed. "What are you doing here?" he asked. 0

Jiang Yuan looked at him and took a deep breath. "I'm interning here." 0

Feng Hongyang gazed at her, his expression puzzled. "Interning?" 0

"Yeah," Jiang Yuan nodded. 0

Feng Hongyang squinted at her. "Weren't you just in a state of despair before?" 0

Jiang Yuan looked at Feng Hongyang and smiled faintly. "I couldn't understand it before, but now I do." 0

"Oh?" Feng Hongyang regarded her with interest. "What have you figured out?" 0

Jiang Yuan met his gaze, her tone calm. "I don't want to be entangled with you anymore." 0

Feng Hongyang looked at her, his eyes teasing. "Are you sure?" 0

"Sure," Jiang Yuan nodded. 0

Feng Hongyang studied her for a moment before suddenly laughing. "Weren't you the one who kept pestering me to get back together?" 0

Jiang Yuan looked at him and smiled lightly. "I was immature before." 0

"Now you've matured?" Feng Hongyang observed her with a playful smile. 0

"Yes," Jiang Yuan confirmed with a nod. 0

Feng Hongyang scoffed lightly. "You better really have matured." 0

With that, he turned and walked away. Jiang Yuan watched his retreating figure and let out a long sigh. She looked into the distance and silently said to herself: "Feng Hongyang, I never want to see you again." 0

... 0

Feng Hongyang came out of the investment banking department of the securities firm, got into his car, and sat in the back seat, deep in thought. 0

The assistant drove in front, stealing glances at him through the rearview mirror. 0

“Did she really say that?” Feng Hongyang suddenly asked. 0

The assistant quickly replied, “Yes, she said she doesn’t want to get entangled with you anymore.” 0

Listening to this, Feng Hongyang furrowed his brow slightly. 0

Seeing his expression, the assistant cautiously suggested, “Mr. Feng, should I talk to her?” 0

Feng Hongyang pondered for a moment and waved his hand dismissively. “No need.” 0

“Then…” The assistant hesitated. 0

Leaning back in his seat, Feng Hongyang closed his eyes and said lightly, “I want to see how long she can hold out.” 0

The assistant listened but didn’t dare to speak. 0

With his eyes closed, a smirk appeared on Feng Hongyang’s lips. 0

Jiang Yuan, you cannot escape my grasp. 0

0

In the blink of an eye, six months had passed. 0

Jiang Yuan was still interning in the investment banking department at Silver Star Securities. 0

She was now able to independently write research reports. 0

Liu Qi was very satisfied with her and often praised her work. 0

Jiang Yuan was also grateful to Liu Qi for teaching her many things. 0

Besides work, Jiang Yuan continued attending classes at school. 0

Her grades had always been excellent, and she received scholarships every year. 0

Although she wasn’t as wealthy as some of her classmates, living alone was sufficient for her. 0

She had become completely independent. 0

No longer needing anyone. 0

One weekend, after class, Jiang Yuan stepped out of the classroom and suddenly heard someone calling her name. 0

“Jiang Yuan.” 0

Turning at the sound, she saw Feng Hongyang. 0
