After listening, Shen Yulin revealed a comforting smile on his face. He gently stroked my hand and continued, "I know you have high expectations for our home, so I consulted with my father-in-law during the renovation and paid special attention to your preferences."
I leaned my head on his shoulder and said softly, "Thank you, darling. I believe we will spend many wonderful times here together, creating memories that belong to us."
"You! What did you just call me?" Shen Yulin stiffened, speaking in disbelief.
"Me? What did I say?" I replied playfully, pretending not to understand and giving him a wink.
"Wife, don't tease me. I want to hear you say it again."
"Honey..." I leaned closer to his ear and whispered.
Shen Yulin tilted his head, his lips gently covering mine as he softly kissed me. I could feel his breath—warm and gentle—like a soft breeze brushing against my cheek. His kiss was tender, and my body gradually relaxed as I immersed myself in this sweet moment. I felt his tongue lightly touch my lips, sending a tingling sensation through me. This feeling made me instinctively extend my tongue to intertwine with his. Our kiss grew more passionate, as if the whole world had faded away, leaving just the two of us. I could feel his enthusiasm and the deep desire within me.
As the kiss ended, our foreheads touched. Shen Yulin said in a low voice, "Wife, can you call me that every day from now on? Especially..." Before he could finish, the sound of a baby's cry interrupted him. Startled, I quickly pushed him away and rushed toward the direction of the baby carriage.
Upon getting closer, I saw Tang Tang with her little mouth twisted in distress, crying as if she were extremely unhappy about not being fed.
With a pang of heartache, I picked up Tang Tang and gently patted her back in an attempt to soothe her. Shen Yulin hurried over, looking at us with concern. He reached out to softly stroke Tang Tang's little face, his eyes filled with love. Feeling her father's affection, Tang Tang gradually stopped crying but still sniffled occasionally, evoking sympathy in anyone who saw her.
"What’s wrong, sweetheart? Are you hungry?" I asked anxiously. Shen Yulin quickly brought over a bottle to prepare formula for Tang Tang. At that moment, I noticed that the area around her mouth was slightly red and swollen, as if it had been irritated by something. My heart tightened; could it be that something I recently ate caused her to have an allergic reaction?
Just as I was lost in thought, Shen Yulin handed me the prepared formula. I took the bottle and carefully fed it to Tang Tang. She greedily sucked on the nipple and soon quieted down, her eyes slightly closing in a satisfied manner. Looking at Tang Tang's adorable face, Shen Yulin and I exchanged smiles filled with happiness and warmth.
However, my mind was still preoccupied with the redness around Tang Tang's mouth. After she finished drinking, I carefully checked her mouth but found nothing unusual. Perhaps it was just a coincidence; I reassured myself. But as a mother, I decided to be more attentive in caring for Tang Tang and monitoring every detail of her well-being to ensure her healthy growth. After all, children are the most precious treasures in our lives and deserve all our love and care.
