A few months later, I successfully enrolled in the university I had dreamed of in my previous life. As soon as I entered the campus, I actively immersed myself in this new environment. I joined many clubs and organizations, meeting like-minded friends with whom I studied and grew together. With the encouragement and support of my teachers and classmates, I gradually began to stand out.
I achieved some accomplishments in academics and, upon my teacher's recommendation, participated in several research projects. Although I was busy every day, I found my own rhythm. While working hard on my studies, I continued to work part-time, fully relying on my own abilities to live. I finally felt an unprecedented sense of freedom and fulfillment. Life became more enriching and interesting.
On the first day of university, I walked into the campus with my backpack, greeted by the smiling faces of my classmates and a warm welcome event. Looking at the lively scene before me, my heart was filled with hope. The long-awaited warmth enveloped me.
University life was vibrant and diverse; there were academic lectures as well as club activities. I actively participated in these events, spending unforgettable moments with my classmates.
"Shen Xi, you arrived just in time," my mentor greeted me with a smile when he saw me. "Come help us; our group is responsible for data recording."
"Sure, teacher," I nodded and quickly walked over.
In the laboratory, I diligently conducted experiments, meticulously recording data. My mentor stood beside me, watching my operations and nodding frequently.
"Shen Xi, you are truly talented," he said, patting me on the shoulder and praising me. "With you joining our team, I'm confident this project will achieve great results."
"Thank you, teacher; I'll do my best," I replied with a smile.
This was my third month in the lab, and my mentor appreciated me greatly; I learned a lot of useful knowledge from him. Although I didn't have as much experience as in my previous life, I had more time and energy now. I began to study fervently to enrich myself.
Because I understand that I am no longer the little girl tied down by family ties from my past life. Now, I have a broader world ahead of me. I want to work hard to grow and become a better version of myself.
“Shen Xi, why are you back so early today?” My roommate smiled and asked as she saw me walk in through the door.
“The experiment went smoothly today, so I came back early,” I replied with a smile.
“Hey, you’re so busy every day; you need to take care of yourself,” my roommate said with concern in her eyes.
“Don’t worry, I will,” I nodded and replied gratefully.
My roommate's name is Chen Meng, and she is my best friend from university. She is kind-hearted and cheerful, always providing me with encouragement and support.
“How was your day? Were the classes intense?” I set down my backpack and asked Chen Meng.
“Don’t even mention it; today’s classes were so boring,” Chen Meng pouted and said, “I still prefer doing experiments with you.”
“Then you should come to the lab with me next time,” I said with a smile.
“Sure, just don’t forget!” Chen Meng exclaimed excitedly.
“Don’t worry, I won’t forget,” I assured her while patting her shoulder.
At that moment, my heart felt warm. In my past life, I never experienced such feelings. Back then, I lived in the shadow of my family; no matter what I did, I could never gain their recognition or attention. But now, I have so many friends who care about me. We work hard together, grow together, encourage each other, and support one another. This is the life I truly desire.
“Shen Xi, your data is excellent,” my mentor praised as he looked at my report. “The success of this project owes a lot to you.”
“Thank you, teacher; this is what I should do,” I replied humbly with a smile.
“All right, everyone has worked hard,” the mentor said while looking at us with a smile. “This project has been successfully completed; tonight, I'm treating everyone to dinner.”
"Hooray!" Everyone cheered upon hearing this.
