Yan Jien woke up promptly at four in the morning, clenching his fists and feeling the changes in his body. After last night's meditation and exercise, he noticed significant enhancements, particularly in his sense of smell and hearing. He could easily hear footsteps from a hundred meters away and detect scents from three hundred meters away.
In addition to these improvements, there were other enhancements as well, such as memory and cognitive speed, though they seemed less pronounced compared to the first two. "Master, I'm fine," Tong Liya shook her head.
"If you're fine, why do you look so glum?" Yan Jien inquired.
"I'm really fine; please don't ask anymore," Tong Liya clearly did not want to elaborate.
Seeing that Tong Liya was unwilling to say more, Yan Jien decided not to press further and turned to enter the company. Today’s work schedule was packed; there was a client coming to review renderings in the morning, an afternoon site visit for plumbing and electrical positioning, and another client to meet. So as soon as he arrived at the office, he began to get busy.
Time flew by, and before he knew it, night had fallen. Yan Jien returned home feeling exhausted.
"Hmm?" Yan Jien frowned slightly; he noticed that Yan Weila was not home. She had already left for work when he went out to the site in the morning, and she still hadn’t returned.
"She must have gone to work," Yan Jien thought to himself. He shook his head and decided not to dwell on it any longer. After holding it in all day at the construction site, he finally had a chance to relieve himself.
"Ah!" Yan Jien let out a long sigh of relief as he shook off his body, feeling much lighter. "Having a restroom is sometimes a hassle," Yan Jien said with a wry smile. The construction site lacked a restroom, and since he had a client meeting in the afternoon, he had to hold it in. If there had been a restroom on-site, it wouldn’t have been so difficult.
"It seems I need to buy a house," Yan Jien thought to himself.
He currently had over two million in savings, which made him quite wealthy in a small city like Nanquan City, enough to buy a place of his own. However, he still hadn't decided where to buy.
The next day, Yan Jien took a day off specifically to look for a house. He wanted to find a place for Yan Weila to live; after all, staying in a rental was not a long-term solution. If Yan Weila encountered trouble again, he would feel guilty.
However, he searched until the afternoon and still couldn't find anything suitable, ultimately having to give up for the time being.
In the following days, Yan Jien continued his monotonous routine: working during the day, training at night, and when tired, either researching online or playing games to relax.
He had tried going to sleep immediately after meditating, but it didn't work well. Although he could regain energy that way, it didn't achieve the desired effect, so he continued with his meditation practice.
After three consecutive nights of experimentation, he discovered that waking up at four in the morning allowed him to maintain a state of full alertness, meaning he only needed one hour of sleep each day.
This discovery thrilled him. "At this rate of recovery, I will soon be completely free from insomnia," Yan Jien said excitedly.

On the 20th, at 2:51 AM.
Yan Jien lay on the floor, preparing to sleep when suddenly he sensed a powerful aura that felt similar to the sense of crisis he experienced when that yellow-haired mutt marked his territory last time.
"Could it be a mutated creature?" Yan Jien's heart raced.
He had previously encountered two mutated creatures; he defeated the first and scared off the second. Now a third one had appeared, and he wondered how strong this one would be.
"No matter what, I can't let it get away," Yan Jien resolved.
"Whoosh!"
He decisively got up and rushed toward the source of the sensation.
When he reached the corridor, he noticed that the door to the neighboring room was also open, and Li Yanqiu and Han Li hurriedly ran out.
"Where are they going at this hour? Could it also be because of a mutated creature?" Yan Jien wondered.
He quietly followed behind them to see what they were up to.
Soon enough, he followed them to West Lake Park.
"Captain, that thing should be nearby; let's be careful," Han Li whispered.
"Mm." Li Yanqiu nodded.
The two searched around the park for a while and finally arrived at a patch of grass, where Li Yanqiu pulled out a box from the bushes.
"What is this?" Han Li asked, puzzled.
"It's a Locator," Li Yanqiu replied.
"A Locator? Did that thing take the Locator away?" Han Li exclaimed in surprise.
"It seems so," Li Yanqiu frowned.
"What do we do now?" Han Li asked.
"Let's go back first and see if the Locator can pick up any signals again," Li Yanqiu suggested.
"Okay." Han Li nodded.
After discussing for a moment, they turned to head back, but just as they took a few steps, the Locator in Li Yanqiu's hand suddenly beeped.
"Beep! Beep! Beep!"
"Captain, the Locator is beeping," Han Li said excitedly.
"That thing is still nearby," Li Yanqiu stated.
"Then let's hurry and chase it," Han Li urged.
"Mm." Li Yanqiu nodded.
The two quickly followed the direction indicated by the Locator.
"It actually took the Locator away; this mutated creature's intelligence is indeed impressive," Yan Jien marveled.
The two mutated creatures he had encountered before had some intelligence, but compared to humans, they were still far behind. The mutated creature he was facing this time clearly had much higher intelligence.
"Let's see where you try to escape to," Yan Jien sneered.
He quickly followed the scent left by the Locator on the ground.
