I looked at him, unsure of what to say. Li Rong's clothes were still dripping with water, and his lips were frozen and purple, clearly having waited for a long time. I felt a pang of discomfort in my heart as I gazed at him. 0

"You..." 0

"Sister," Li Rong looked at me, "please don't be angry. I'll leave soon." 0

"I just wanted to see you, nothing else." 0

"You..." I stared at him, at a loss for words. Li Rong smiled at me and then turned to leave. I watched his back, feeling a mix of emotions. 0

The next time I saw Li Rong was at the cocktail party. This time, Xu Qian didn't ask me to be his partner. I was happy to be free, wearing a burgundy dress and light makeup to attend the event. 0

Li Rong was dressed in a tailcoat, wearing white gloves, and moving around the party with a tray. I was surprised by the tailcoat he wore. It was clearly not his; it was too big for him, making him look even smaller and thinner. 0

Li Rong noticed me too; he glanced my way but quickly shifted his gaze away. Curiosity got the better of me, and I followed him. He walked into a room, and after hesitating for a moment, I followed him inside. 0

Li Rong was half-squatting on the floor, carefully taking out some alcohol swabs to disinfect my hands. I gazed at his delicate profile, momentarily lost in thought. 0

It had been some time since we last met, and Li Rong seemed to have changed. His features had matured; his eyes were more defined, his nose was high, and his lips were of moderate thickness. Although he still had some baby fat on his face, the youthful innocence had faded away. 0

Li Rong looked up at me and said, "Sister, it's done." 0
I came back to my senses and asked him, "What are you doing here?" 0
"Are you asking how I ended up working as a waiter here?" Li Rong looked at me. "Because this is the only place where I can see you." 0
I lowered my gaze. "You know that's not what I meant." 0
"Sister, do you not want me to come?" Li Rong looked at me. "You think I'm bothering you, right?" 0
"Li Rong," I looked at him, "you know that's not what I meant." 0
"Then what do you mean?" Li Rong looked at me. "Don't you just want me to stop bothering you?" 0
"I don't." I lowered my gaze again. 0
Li Rong looked at me and suddenly smiled, "Sister, you always do this." 0
"Forget it," he said as he looked at me. "Anyway, I've gotten used to it." 0
I pressed my lips together, unsure of what to say. 0
"By the way," Li Rong looked at me, "do you know how much I earn working as a waiter here?" 0
"How much?" 0
"Five hundred per hour," Li Rong said, looking at me. "It's more than what I make as an extra." 0
I looked at him and couldn't help but laugh. "Really?" 0
"Yeah," Li Rong nodded. 0
I stared at him, suddenly at a loss for words. 0
Li Rong looked at me with a hint of disappointment. "Sister, do you think I'm just lying to you?" 0
"I don't." 0
"You do," Li Rong said, looking at me. "You always do this; you never take my words seriously." 0
"I don't." I lowered my gaze once more. 0
Li Rong sighed suddenly. "Forget it; I don't really care anyway." 0
As he spoke, he pulled out a box from his pocket. "Here, this is for you." 0

"What?" I looked at him. 0
"Open it and see." 0
I opened the box, and inside was a pair of flat shoes. 0
I took a glance and immediately knew they weren't cheap. 0
I looked at him and asked, "Why are you giving me shoes?" 0
"I was originally planning to give them to you for your birthday," Li Rong said, looking at me, "but then you kicked me out, and I almost sold these shoes." 0
"Later I thought about it and decided to give them to you anyway." 0
"Besides, you don't lack this little money." 0
I looked at him and smiled, "Thank you." 0
"No need to thank me," Li Rong said, looking at me. "I'm not doing it for you." 0
I laughed, said nothing, and handed the shoes to Li Rong: "Can you hold these for me?" 0
Li Rong took the shoes, puzzled: "Why?" 0
"I'm going to transfer the money for these shoes to you," I said, looking at him. "You know my habit." 0
Li Rong looked at me and suddenly laughed: "Sister, do you know how much that hurts my feelings?" 0
