Lin Wan returned to the hotel, feeling somewhat complicated. She didn't expect that Chen Wu had liked a girl back in high school. She thought she should be more generous and not care about it since it was all in the past. However, she found that she couldn't control her emotions at all. She really wanted to know who that girl was, whether she had dated Chen Wu, and why they broke up...
Lin Wan felt like she was going crazy. She lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling, unable to calm her mind for a long time. In the evening, Chen Wu sent her a message, inviting her out for dinner. Lin Wan didn't want to go but felt it would seem petty, so she agreed.
She tidied herself up and went out. Chen Wu was waiting for her at the door, and they walked out together. Throughout the journey, Lin Wan remained silent, looking down and lost in thought. Chen Wu turned his head to glance at her.
"What's wrong?" Chen Wu asked.
"Nothing," Lin Wan shook her head.
"You seem like you have something on your mind," Chen Wu said.
"I don't," Lin Wan quickly replied.
"Are you feeling unwell?" Chen Wu asked.
"I'm fine," Lin Wan forced a smile.
"If you're tired, we can go back and rest," Chen Wu suggested.
"I'm really fine," Lin Wan insisted.
Chen Wu looked at her but didn't say anything further. They went downstairs together and got into the car. Chen Wu took her to a restaurant and ordered several dishes. Lin Wan had little appetite and ate very little. Seeing her like this, Chen Wu also didn't eat much.
"Why aren't you eating?" Lin Wan asked.
"I'm not hungry," Chen Wu replied.
"Are you not feeling hungry either?" Chen Wu asked.
"I'm fine," Lin Wan replied.
"If you don't want to eat, we can go back," Chen Wu said.
"Okay," Lin Wan nodded.
So the two of them went back.
On the way, Chen Wu bought some fruit and snacks.
"Are these for your parents?" Lin Wan asked.
"Yeah," Chen Wu nodded.
Lin Wan felt a bit touched.
She realized that Chen Wu was a really nice person, very thoughtful and considerate.
She thought that if she could continue to spend time with Chen Wu like this, maybe they could become a couple someday.
The two of them went upstairs and entered the house.
Lin Wan's parents were watching TV, and they were very happy to see them return.
"You're back," Lin Wan's Mother said with a smile.
"Yeah," Lin Wan nodded.
"Xiao Wu is here," Lin Wan's Father greeted with a smile.
"Hello, Uncle and Auntie," Chen Wu politely greeted.
"Come in and sit down," Lin Wan's Mother quickly said.
Chen Wu and Lin Wan walked in.
Chen Wu placed the fruit and snacks on the table.
"Why did you bring something?" Lin Wan's Mother laughed.
"Just a little token of appreciation," Chen Wu smiled.
"Don't be so polite; we're all family," Lin Wan's Father chuckled.
Chen Wu smiled but didn't say anything further.
Lin Wan went to the kitchen to wash the fruit, then brought it out and placed it in front of Chen Wu.
Chen Wu took a piece of apple and took a bite.
"It's quite sweet," Chen Wu said with a smile.
"Then eat more," Lin Wan's Mother laughed.
Lin Wan sat aside, watching them chat, feeling somewhat complicated inside.
She thought she should be happy, but no matter what, she couldn't feel happy at all.
She felt a mess inside, not knowing what to do. After chatting with Chen Wu and Lin Wan's parents for a while, they went to the kitchen to wash the dishes. Lin Wan followed them in.
The kitchen was small, making it feel a bit cramped for the two of them. Lin Wan walked up to the sink and started washing the dishes. Chen Wu stood behind her, watching her wash. Lin Wan felt a bit uncomfortable but didn't say anything.
They silently washed the dishes, and the atmosphere was somewhat awkward. Suddenly, Lin Wan's hair fell down, covering her face. She reached up to tuck her hair behind her ear, but her arms were a bit short and couldn't reach.
Just as she was about to turn around to grab some chopsticks, a hand suddenly reached out and tucked her hair back. Lin Wan froze for a moment and turned to look at Chen Wu. He was looking at her with no expression on his face.
Lin Wan felt embarrassed and quickly turned away. Chen Wu pushed her hair behind her ear and then continued washing the dishes. Lin Wan felt flustered and almost dropped a dish. She thought she couldn't stay there any longer, so she hurriedly finished washing the dishes and went out.
She walked into the living room and sat on the sofa, still feeling a bit disoriented. She thought she should calm down, but she just couldn't manage to do so. She felt she needed to clarify things with Chen Wu, but she didn't know how to start.
She thought she should keep her distance from Chen Wu, yet she couldn't bear to do so. She believed she should be more rational, but she couldn't control her feelings. She felt like she was going crazy.
