After leaving the restaurant, a group of classmates decided to revisit Jiangcheng Third High School. Jiangcheng Third High School is the best high school in Jiangcheng, with a history of over a hundred years. Many notable alumni, including politicians, scientists, and artists, have emerged from here.
As we walked into the school and looked at the familiar gate and teaching buildings, we couldn't help but feel nostalgic. "The school has changed so much," I sighed. "Yeah, I can hardly recognize it," Zhou Wen said. "Do you remember that building?" Song Mei pointed to a building in the distance. "That's our experimental building," I laughed. "Right! "Do you remember that teacher?" Guo Liang pointed to an office far away. "It's Teacher Wang!" I recognized him at once. We walked over and exchanged a few pleasantries with Teacher Wang. He has retired but still insists on working at the school, engaging in research and teaching activities. After chatting with him, we continued to wander around the school.
"Lin Wan, do you remember this place?" Chen Wu asked, pointing at the basketball court. "Of course! You used to play here," I laughed. "Nope," he shook his head. "What place is that?" I asked curiously. "You watched me play here," he replied. "I..." I was taken aback. "Yeah, Lin Wan often came here to watch Chen Wu play," Guo Liang laughed. "I... I didn't," I quickly denied it.
"How could you not? You even bought me water," Chen Wu said. "I..." I was speechless. I didn't expect him to bring this up in front of so many people. "Lin Wan, who would have thought you had such a crush on Chen Wu," Song Mei teased. "I... I don't!" I quickly defended myself. "Stop pretending; we can all see it," Zhou Wen laughed.
"Did you know that back in high school, Lin Wan often came to ask me about Chen Wu?" Guo Liang chuckled. "I... I didn't!" I insisted again. "Don't deny it; I already know," Chen Wu said with a smile. "How... how do you know?" I asked in surprise. "Because I liked you too," he replied.
"You..." I was instantly stunned.
"Hahahaha..." Everyone burst into laughter.
It was then that I realized I had been tricked.
"Chen Wu, you actually played me!" I angrily punched him.
"I was just speaking the truth," he replied with a smile.
"Hmph, I'm not talking to you anymore." I turned away, pretending to be angry.
"Alright, don't be mad. I was wrong, okay?" He hurriedly tried to appease me.
"That's more like it." I calmed down.
We continued to wander around the school, reminiscing about our youthful days.
We arrived at the school's most famous Lover's Wall.
It was an old wall covered in vines, lush and vibrant.
Legend has it that a teacher at the school wrote a phrase on the wall to encourage students to study hard: "As long as you study diligently, your future will be incredibly bright."
Since then, this wall became a place for students to confess their feelings, with everyone writing their innermost thoughts or secrets on it.
"Do you know that I once wrote my secret on this wall?" Zhou Wen said mysteriously.
"What secret?" everyone asked curiously.
"I'm not telling you." She smiled.
"Come on, it's definitely about some guy you have a crush on," Song Mei teased.
"Not at all," Zhou Wen said, blushing.
"Lin Wan, what about you?" Chen Wu suddenly asked.
"I... I don't have any," I quickly denied.
"Don't lie; we all know your secret," Guo Liang said with a laugh.
"What do you know?" I suddenly felt nervous.
"You wrote on this wall, 'I like Chen Wu,' right?" Guo Liang chuckled.
"I... I didn't!" I hurriedly denied it.
"Stop pretending; we all know now," Song Mei laughed.
"I... I really didn't!" I quickly defended myself.
"Look, there's even your handwriting up there," Zhou Wen pointed to a corner of the wall and said.
I followed her gaze and saw a small line of writing on the wall: "I like Chen Wu; I'm willing to give everything for him!"
I was instantly dumbfounded.
"Lin Wan, so you've had a crush on me for so long," Chen Wu joked.
"I... I didn't!" I quickly defended myself again.
"Stop pretending; we all know now," Guo Liang laughed.
"I... I really didn't!" I insisted again.
"Lin Wan, just admit it," Zhou Wen said with a smile.
"I... I really didn't!" I felt like crying.
"Lin Wan, since you like me, why didn't you tell me?" Chen Wu asked.
"I... I really didn't!" I was on the verge of breaking down.
"Lin Wan, actually, I like you too," he said.
"You... don't joke around," I replied awkwardly.
"I'm serious," he said earnestly.
"You... really like me?" I looked at him in disbelief.
"Yeah," he nodded.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because you are Lin Wan," he replied.
"I..." I was stunned.
"Lin Wan, we have to take care of each other from now on," he said, holding my hand.
"Okay," I nodded.
We walked hand in hand through the campus, feeling each other's warmth.
At that moment, I felt like the happiest woman in the world.
That night, our group sang songs at KTV for a long time, chatting and reminiscing about our youthful days.
It wasn't until late at night that we each went home.
When I got back, Chen Wu went to take a shower.
I watched his back and couldn't help but smile.
It turned out he liked me too.
It turned out we liked each other.
This feeling is so wonderful.
I lay in bed, thinking about what happened today, and couldn't help but laugh.
I am truly happy.
