While playing Truth or Dare at KTV, Chen Wu and I had never lost, so we hadn't been asked anything. But finally, Chen Wu lost once. I nervously watched him, hoping he would choose Dare. However, he chose Truth. My heart immediately raced.

“Wow, Chen Wu, so you had someone you liked in high school?”
“Who is it? She has excellent grades?”
“There don't seem to be many girls in our class with good grades.”

Everyone began guessing who the girl Chen Wu liked. Chen Wu smiled but remained silent, his gaze directed at me. My heart raced even faster.
“No way? Chen Wu, you’re not talking about Lin Wan, are you?” Song Mei suddenly said.
My heart skipped a beat.
“How could that be?” I quickly replied.
“Why not? I remember Chen Wu often asked Lin Wan questions before,” Guo Liang said.
“Yeah, I remember too, and it was always Lin Wan who explained things to him,” Zhou Wen added.
“Wow, does that mean Chen Wu might have a crush on Lin Wan?” Zhang Lu remarked.

“Chen Wu, are you talking about Lin Wan?” Song Mei asked.
Chen Wu looked at me, smiling without saying a word.
"Oh my, is that really Lin Wan?"
"Chen Wu, you actually have a crush on Lin Wan?"

Everyone kept questioning Chen Wu.
"I..." I suddenly panicked.
"Stop guessing, how could I like her?" Chen Wu suddenly said.
My heart sank immediately.
"Hahaha, I told you, how could Chen Wu like Lin Wan?"
"Exactly, Lin Wan, you don't need to be so self-important."

Everyone laughed at me.
I sat there awkwardly, wishing I could find a crack in the ground to hide in.
Chen Wu, how could you treat me like this!
I thought angrily to myself.
"Alright, enough playing around, I'm tired and want to go home," I said as I stood up.
"Yeah, we should head out too," Song Mei said.
So everyone started packing up and getting ready to leave.
Chen Wu walked out of the KTV with me.
"What did you mean by that earlier?" I questioned him.
"What do you mean?" he pretended to be confused.
"Why did you deny liking me just now?" I asked angrily.
"I didn't deny it," he replied.
"Then what did you mean?" I asked again.
"I like you," he said.
"Why didn't you admit it earlier?" I asked.
"I just wanted to see your reaction," he smiled.
"You... you're too much!" I stomped my foot in frustration.
"Okay, don't be mad," he hugged me and gently coaxed.
"Hmph!" I turned my head away and ignored him.
"I like you," he whispered in my ear.
"You..." I felt my face flush immediately.
"I really like you," he said seriously.
"You... you really like me?" I asked tentatively.
"Yeah," he nodded solemnly.
"Why do you like me?" I inquired.
"Because you're cute," he replied with a smile.
"You... you're the cute one," I said, feeling flustered.
"I'm being serious," he said, looking intently at me.
"I... I don't believe you," I stammered.
"I'll prove it to you," he said confidently.
"How will you prove it?" I asked curiously.
"Just wait and see," he said mysteriously.
"Hmph, I'll be waiting!" I pouted.
We walked hand in hand down the street at night.
My feelings were extremely complicated.
Chen Wu, what do you really mean?
Do you really like me?
But why won't you admit it?
My heart was filled with confusion and unease.

After the party ended, old classmates went their separate ways, many of them drunk with red eyes.
I sat in the car, watching the streetlights flash by outside, feeling a mix of emotions.

He was too close, making me feel breathless.
"Answer me," he said in a low voice.
"I... I don't have." I said in a panic.
He stared at me, his gaze intense, as if he wanted to devour me.
I felt uncomfortable under his gaze.
"Why... why are you looking at me like that?" I asked.
"Because I like you," he replied.
"You..." I was instantly taken aback.
"Lin Wan, I really like you," he emphasized again.
"Why are you telling me this?" I asked.
"Because I want you to know my feelings," he said.
"I... I understand," I said in a flustered manner.
"So what about your feelings?" he asked.
"I..." I was suddenly at a loss for words.
"Do you like me too?" he asked.
"I..." I hesitated.
"Don't you like me?" he pressed on.
"I..." I still hesitated.
"Why aren't you speaking?" he asked.
"I... I need to think," I said.
"Think about what?" he asked.
"I..." I couldn't find the words.
He looked at me, his gaze profound, as if he could see right through me.
I felt uneasy under his scrutiny.
"Please... don't look at me like that," I pleaded.
"Why are you afraid to look into my eyes?" he asked.
"I... I'm not afraid," I insisted stubbornly.
"Then why are you avoiding my gaze?" he asked.
"I... I'm not avoiding it," I still insisted.
"Then look into my eyes," he said.
"I..." I hesitated again.
"Look into my eyes," he commanded.
I slowly lifted my head and looked at him.
His gaze was deep, as if it could pull me in.
I felt my heart race under his stare, yet also felt scared.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked.
"Because I want you to know how I feel," he replied.
"You..." I was suddenly at a loss for words.
"Do you like me too?" he asked.
"I..." I still hesitated.
"Why can't you be a little braver?" he questioned.
"I... I need time," I said.
"How long?" he asked.
"I... I don't know," I replied.
He fell silent, looking at me with a complex expression.
I felt flustered under his gaze.
"What's wrong with you?" I asked cautiously.
"I love you," he said softly.
"What... what did you say?" I was shocked.
"I love you," he repeated.
"How could you..." I looked at him in disbelief.
