"Yuan Yuan, let me tell you, they suddenly started giving out free ice cream on this Cruise Ship. Do you know why?" My boyfriend, Chen Wei, said mysteriously. According to him, he read an article about it somewhere.
They started giving out free ice cream on the Cruise Ship because someone died on board. To make room for the body in the cold storage, they needed to clear some space.
I took a bite of the ice cream in his hand and scoffed, "This Cruise Ship is top luxury; all food is free, including ice cream."
"Why are you worrying about this?" Chen Wei was taken aback, clearly realizing the absurdity of his claim. He scratched his head a bit sheepishly, "I guess you're right."
"Damn, I wasted my worry on that."
Chen Wei is my physical boyfriend, a sports student who has nothing but muscles. He has a short temper and often speaks without thinking. This luxury Cruise Ship trip lasts thirty-three days, crossing multiple countries with only thirty luxurious suites available, accommodating a maximum of one hundred guests. Each Cruise Ship ticket costs as much as sixty thousand dollars.
I don't have that kind of vacation budget. The money comes from my other boyfriend, Yang Rui.
Yang Rui is my spiritual boyfriend; he fulfills all my wishes and gives me two hundred thousand every month. He is a wealthy older young man who suffered trauma in childhood and has remained single. After meeting me, he believes I healed his emotional wounds, which is why he gives me two hundred thousand each month.
At first, I felt uneasy about this money. But after two years together, I found that he treats me very well; besides giving me money every month, he also takes me on various vacations. During those vacations, I tried to attract him. He rejected me.
Chen Wei was so hungry that we decided to go to the buffet restaurant.
"Eat whatever you want, but not a single dish I ordered is allowed to be left over!"
I smiled and nodded, "With so many dishes, can you finish them all?"
Chen Wei replied matter-of-factly, "If I can't finish them, there's always you!"
I shook my head, "Then let's not order so much; I can't finish it."
The buffet operated on an ordering system where the chef would prepare dishes based on the menu items selected.
We ordered five dishes, ready to take our time enjoying the meal.
I looked around, hoping to find a girl who resembled my best friend for some photo opportunities on the Cruise Ship.
Suddenly, I spotted a middle-aged woman who had ordered a whole table full of food.
She had piled up so many dishes that there was hardly any space left on the table.
The waiter looked at her expressionlessly and mechanically asked, "Are you sure you want to order all of this?"
The woman impatiently nodded, "Hurry up and place the order; I'm starving."
The waiter sighed but went ahead and placed her order anyway.
When all the dishes arrived, the woman grabbed a king crab leg in her left hand and a piece of Tuna in her right, shoveling them into her mouth.
Her cheeks were stuffed as if she hadn't eaten in hundreds of years.
I turned away in disgust, unwilling to watch any longer.
After indulging in our meal, Chen Wei dragged me back to our suite.
On the first day, we slept until noon.
We had been so wrapped up the night before that my legs felt weak and I couldn't get out of bed.
We ended up ordering room service instead.
As the Cruise Ship gradually sailed away from the port, I was too lazy to go out.
So, I spent two days just hanging out with Chen Wei in our room.
Of course, I haven't forgotten to let Yang Rui know I'm safe.
Chen Wei, that shameless man, is touching me while asking me to talk to Yang Rui. I can only hold back the sounds in my throat and softly say, "Cheng Ge, don't worry, I write in my diary every night."
In truth, I don't like writing diaries at all. But Yang Rui seems to have a special habit; he enjoys seeing me record my daily life. He says it makes him feel like we are living together.
Yang Rui chuckles on the other end of the line: "Yuan Yuan, I knew it. You're a well-behaved girl."
Chen Wei's hand slips under my clothes, and I can't help but let out a muffled groan.
Yang Rui hears it sharply and asks seriously, "Yuan Yuan, what's wrong?"
I take a deep breath, trying to keep my voice steady: "It's nothing, Cheng Ge. I'm just looking at the sea."
Seeing me lie so earnestly, Chen Wei becomes even more provocative. I quickly hang up the phone, afraid that Yang Rui will sense something is off.
Chen Wei breathes heavily, whispering in my ear: "Baby, your ex-boyfriend is quite wealthy; he gives you two hundred thousand a month and lets you travel."
I roll my eyes, too lazy to respond to him.
