"Xiao Zhang, what nonsense are you talking about?"
Xiao Zhang pulled out the SKP shopping card that Xiao Ma had given her. "This card is fake. The scammer transferred the balance to you through a QR code; in reality, this card was not issued by SKP."
I didn't believe it.
Xiao Zhang said, "I've already checked; this card is not issued by SKP at all."
I scoffed, "What makes you say this card isn't issued by SKP?"
"Because I asked my friend who works at SKP, and she said they have never issued such a card."
I snatched the card from her. "Xiao Zhang, are you trying to swindle me?"
Xiao Zhang was taken aback. "Why would you think that?"
I replied coldly, "Why would I think that? You know that Xiao Ma and I are dating, yet you are trying to sow discord. Isn't it just to get money?"
"I already gave you some money to keep my relationship with Xiao Ma from Chen Wei. What more do you want?"
Xiao Zhang's face turned red with anger. "Fine, just consider me trying to swindle you, okay?"
"Hmph!"
I turned and walked away.
Although I couldn't fully trust Xiao Zhang's words, I couldn't dismiss them either.
I arrived at the side of the cruise ship and found a secluded spot to sit down and think.
I opened my phone, wanting to search if Xiao Ma was related to any famous designers.
However, the internet was slow and wouldn't connect.
"Ouch!"
"Ouch!"
Two voices sounded simultaneously.
I looked up and saw a familiar face.
It was the lady who had ordered a huge pile of food on the first day at the buffet.
"Young lady, aren't you watching where you're walking?"
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry."
I quickly apologized.
"Is saying sorry enough?"
The old lady persisted.
"What if my husband gets hurt because of you?"
"Pay up!"
I lowered my head and then noticed a black stain on my white dress.
It was the old man that the lady pushed who bumped into my leg and dirtied my dress.
"Pay up!"
"Pay up!"
The old lady and I said in unison.
I pointed at her, "Ma'am, it was clearly you who bumped into me. You hit my leg and got my dress dirty, and you're telling me to pay?"
The old lady plopped down on the ground, "Oh no! My heart hurts so much!"
"Young girl, you can't bully an old lady like me!"
I pointed to the surveillance camera on the ceiling, "Ma'am, there's surveillance here. You bumped into me, and if you don't believe it, we can check the footage."
As soon as the old lady heard there was a camera, she stopped pretending and got up, brushing herself off.
"You win this time, young girl!"
The old man walked over and smiled at me, "I'm sorry, young girl. My wife doesn't know better."
"We'll compensate for that dress."
"Hmph!"
The old lady shot me a glare and helped the old man away.
I couldn't be bothered to argue with them; after all, the dress was dirty, and it could be washed and worn again. I stood up, ready to head back to my room, but then realized my legs were numb.
I went to the Cruise Ship service center, hoping to ask if there was a way to relieve the numbness in my legs. As soon as I walked in, I saw an old man sitting there.
"Young lady, here for compensation?" he asked.
I nodded shyly.
"How much?"
"Ten thousand."
The old man was taken aback. "Young lady, are you trying to extort me?"
"This dress can't be dry cleaned; it needs to be hand washed by a professional and dried quickly, or it will leave marks."
"Alright then."
The old man took out his phone. "Let's do a transfer."
I pulled out my phone as well. "Let's add each other on WeChat first. You can transfer the money to my friend; she used her phone number when she bought this dress."
The old man nodded. "Okay."
It took us over ten minutes to successfully add each other on WeChat. I asked the waiter, "Why is it so difficult to add someone on WeChat?"
The waiter smiled and replied, "You forgot, we are now sailing in international waters, so the signal is naturally poor."
The old man nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I called my son yesterday, but today I can't get through."
We exchanged WeChat information, and he asked me to send him the purchase record of the dress. I forwarded it to my friend and asked her to send him the receipt.
