"Why?"
"Because..." I looked at him, "the person he loves is gone."
"Is it Chen Yun?" he asked.
"How do you know?"
"I guessed," my brother said, "I can tell that Chen Yun really likes him."
"Really?" I smiled faintly, "It's a pity Xu Zimo doesn't know."
"Didn't Chen Yun tell him?" my brother asked in surprise.
"No," I shook my head, "she didn't dare."
"Why?"
"Because she understands Xu Zimo better than anyone else," I said with a bitter smile, "she knows Xu Zimo wouldn't like her."
"No," my brother shook his head, "you're wrong."
"What?"
"Well," my brother nodded, "I heard it with my own ears."
"You..." I looked at him, "what did you hear?"
"Once, Chen Yun came to the hospital to see Xu Zimo," my brother recalled, "I happened to be looking for Xu Zimo and overheard them talking."
"What did they say?" I asked eagerly.
"Chen Yun asked Xu Zimo if he could give her a chance," my brother said, "she said she really liked him."
"And what did Xu Zimo say?"
"He said..." my brother looked at me, "he said he liked her too."
"..."
"I was shocked at the time," my brother said, "I thought he would reject her."
"So..." I looked at him, "you buried this secret in your heart and never told anyone, right?"
"Yeah," my brother nodded, "I promised Chen Yun I wouldn't tell anyone, but... I didn't expect her to die."
"Don't say anything." I covered his mouth and said, "Don't say it again in the future."
"Sis..." My brother looked at me, "Should I not have said it?"
"No." I shook my head, "You're right, Xu Zimo does like Chen Yun."
"Then you..."
"I'm fine." I forced a smile, "I will divorce Xu Zimo."
"Divorce?" My brother was surprised, "You two are getting a divorce?"
"Yes." I nodded, "I'm tired and don't want to maintain this marriage anymore."
"Do you like Xu Zimo?" he asked.
"I..." I opened my mouth but couldn't find the words.
"You like him, right?" my brother said, "You don't want to divorce him, do you?"
"No." I shook my head, "I won't like him anymore."
I went to Chen Yun's house and handed the fruits and supplements I had bought to the neighbor.
"Please pass these to Chen Yun's mother," I said to the neighbor.
"Sure," the neighbor replied as they took the items, "I'm just heading to her house."
"Thank you," I said gratefully.
"You're welcome," the neighbor smiled, "You can go now."
"Okay." I nodded and turned to leave.
Just a few steps out, I saw Chen Yun's mother approaching.
I quickly stopped and stepped aside.
Chen Yun's mother reached the door and knocked.
Soon, the door opened.
A stranger girl appeared at the entrance.
She was very beautiful and had a graceful demeanor.
She was wearing a loose long dress, and her lower abdomen was slightly protruding.
Is she pregnant? I thought to myself.
" Xiao Lei, why are you out here?" Chen Yun's Mother said nervously, "Quick, go back inside and lie down!"
"Mom, I'm fine," the girl replied with a smile. "The doctor said I should move around more."
"That doesn't matter," Chen Yun's Mother said indulgently. "You need to take good care of the baby."
"Got it," the girl nodded obediently.
I stared at them in a daze, feeling a mix of emotions.
This was the first time I had seen Chen Yun's Mother smile so happily, and it was also the first time I saw her dote on someone like this.
In the past, she had always been cold to me.
I knew it was because I looked too much like my mother, and my mother had once destroyed her happy family.
But... both Chen Yun and her mother treated me well, especially Chen Yun; she truly regarded me as her best friend.
So, I had been trying hard to please Chen Yun's Mother, hoping to gain her approval.
