Uncle Wang looked at my anxious expression and sighed, "The young lady said she wants to see you."
I took a deep breath, forcing myself to calm down. Su Muqing's safety was of utmost importance; I couldn't let her get caught up in this dangerous storm. "I understand. You can leave now; I have my own plans."
Uncle Wang opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something more, but in the end, he said nothing and quietly exited the room.
As night fell and the lights began to shine, I arranged everything and decided to go to Su Muqing's residence alone. However, just as I was about to step out, a shadow suddenly appeared in front of me.
"Where are you going?" Uncle Bai Ze's deep voice echoed in the silent corridor.
"Uncle?" I frowned slightly. "What are you doing here?"
Uncle Bai Ze did not answer my question but fixed his gaze on me, his profound eyes seeming to see through everything. "Qingyun, you cannot go!"
I was taken aback. "Uncle, what do you mean by that?"
Uncle Bai Ze sighed deeply. "I foresee that a greater crisis is about to descend. There are many dangers surrounding Su Muqing's residence; you must not act impulsively!"
I clenched my fists, filled with conflict and struggle. On one side was the woman I loved, and on the other was my uncle's prophecy and the mission I bore. What should I do?
"Uncle, I must go!" My tone was firm, without a hint of hesitation.
Uncle Bai Ze wanted to persuade me further, but I had already turned and walked away, disappearing into the night.
Meanwhile, a black business van quietly parked by the roadside beneath the apartment building where Su Muqing lived. The Scarred Tiger Demon, accompanied by several subordinates, stealthily infiltrated the apartment building.
"Remember, find that woman and bring her to me!" the Scarred Tiger Demon said in a low, menacing voice.
"Yes!" Several subordinates responded and quickly dispersed, searching each unit one by one.
The Scarred Tiger Demon arrived at Su Muqing's door and violently kicked it open, only to find the room empty, with only a faint fragrance lingering in the air.
"Damn it! Where is she?!" the Scarred Tiger Demon roared, sweeping a vase off the table in anger. It shattered upon hitting the ground, sending shards flying.
"Boss, we've searched the entire room and found no trace of that woman," one subordinate reported in a panic as he rushed over.
"Worthless! A bunch of useless fools!" the Scarred Tiger Demon exclaimed furiously, punching the wall and leaving a deep dent.
"Stay here! I refuse to believe she won't come out!" the Scarred Tiger Demon gritted his teeth, his eyes flashing with fierce determination.
As night deepened, the city fell into silence. However, beneath this calm facade lay an undercurrent that was quietly surging.
====================
I drove at full speed, with Bai Ze sitting in the passenger seat, his brow furrowed and silent. Outside the window, the city's neon lights rushed past, reflecting our anxious faces.
"Uncle, do you think something might happen to Muqing?" I couldn't help but ask, my voice trembling slightly.
Bai Ze opened his eyes, his deep gaze filled with concern. "Qingyun, you need to stay calm! It's not time for despair yet; we must believe in Muqing."
I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. I knew this was not the time to panic; I had to remain calm in order to better face the upcoming crisis.
Suddenly, the phone rang sharply, and my heart tightened as I quickly answered the call.
