She quickly stood up and walked straight inside.
"Should I ask a Maid or an Eunuch for directions? It should be fine," she thought to herself. However, upon entering, she found the elegantly decorated courtyard completely empty.
In the center stood a beautifully adorned pavilion, surrounded by a pond filled with lotus flowers, which now appeared wilted due to the winter season.
If summer were to come, it would surely be a magnificent sight.
This must be the residence of one of Tian Feiyao's Consorts. Deliberately ignoring the pangs in her heart, she slowly walked past the pond towards the room.
The main hall was still devoid of people. After surveying the area and preparing to leave, she suddenly heard voices coming from inside.
"I missed you so much. Did you miss me?"
"Well, what do you think?"
As she approached the door where the voices originated, she overheard a man and a woman engaged in an intimate conversation.
Although eavesdropping is not honorable, that woman's voice sounded familiar.
Curiosity got the better of her, and she tiptoed to the door to sneak a peek inside.
Upon looking in, her suspicions were confirmed.
A man and a woman were kissing passionately inside, lost in their own world. As they kissed, their clothes began to disappear.
Gu Yuniang felt as if a crow had flown over her head; she didn't want to see any more of this and certainly didn't want to get involved in such chaos.
Just as she was about to leave, the woman turned her head, revealing a simple yet beautiful face that seemed entirely at odds with her current reckless demeanor.
Gu Yuniang saw everything clearly.
"Um... No, I want, I want you..." Her red lips parted slightly, and her starry eyes sparkled; anyone who looked at her would feel their blood rush.
The man kissed down her graceful neck, and she couldn't help but show an expression of both pleasure and pain.
Gu Yuniang swallowed hard; it was truly a shocking scene! She quickly turned to leave, but in her haste, she accidentally knocked over a large vase placed at the entrance.
"Who?" The woman inside shouted nervously.
Gu Yuniang steeled herself, disregarding everything else, and ran desperately toward the main door. If she were caught witnessing such a scandalous affair, she would surely meet a tragic end here.
Little did she expect that Tian Feiyao was wearing such a large green hat.
Li Ying Palace.
As soon as Gu Yuniang stepped through the main door, she keenly sensed a hint of danger. She smiled sweetly at a Eunuch standing beside her and said, " Eunuch Gonggong, thank you so much!" If it weren't for this Eunuch escorting her back, she might have spent an entire day trying to find her way home.
Eunuch Gonggong's smooth face was filled with smiles. "It's nothing. You look like you just entered the palace as a Maid! I also just entered not long ago. If you have any questions in the future, feel free to ask me; we can help each other out!"
Gu Yuniang felt a bit anxious; she never expected to become friends with a Eunuch. However, in this palace, having one more friend was better than having one more enemy.
She nodded heavily.
As she watched Eunuch Gonggong leave and walked into the courtyard, the main door suddenly slammed shut. A mocking voice drifted into her ears. "Not bad! I truly underestimated you! You managed to sneak onto the dragon bed without anyone noticing and easily got close to those around the Queen. Gu Yuniang, who exactly are you?"
Gu Yuniang's heart sank. "This servant does not know what Your Highness is talking about!" It couldn't be; logically speaking, Consort Li shouldn't know that it was her involved in today's events.
Unless... Yunxin let it slip.
"Don't know?" Consort Li laughed in anger. She took out an earring and held it up in front of Gu Yuniang, coldly saying, "I didn't know it was you in the Imperial Palace's sleeping quarters today until I saw this earring. Where is your earring?" Looking at her empty earlobe, Consort Li wished she could tear her face apart right then and there.
Gu Yuniang felt flustered but maintained her composure. "Your Highness, how can you say that this belongs to this servant? There are countless pairs of similar earrings."
"Bold palace maid, you dare to talk back to me. Someone, teach her a lesson!" Consort Li's face turned red with anger, her beautiful features twisted by jealousy.
The Emperor is hers; she would not allow anyone the chance to covet him. Once that matter was settled, she would be the master of the Harem and would never allow any other women to approach the Emperor again.
Several Eunuchs received the order and stepped forward, grabbing Gu Yuniang on either side. One of them brought a wooden board and slammed it hard against her mouth.
A sharp pain spread from her mouth throughout her body, and Gu Yuniang struggled in terror. But the Eunuchs were as strong as oxen; her resistance was futile.
The board struck her mouth repeatedly, and soon she tasted a metallic sweetness. She looked at Consort Li standing in front of her, smiling seductively, and suddenly saw two faces instead of one.
And what about this ugly old woman in front of her? Why did she have four eyes?
A wave of grievance washed over her. Where is Yun Shuyan? Where is Yun Shuyan? He would never let anyone bully her, unlike Tian Feiyao. Thinking of this, tears streamed down her face.
She felt so tired; perhaps she could not hold on any longer.

"Has anyone seen Gu Yuniang return to Li Ying Palace?" She picked up a teacup and took a sip, gazing charmingly at the palace maids in the courtyard.
Hong'er understood her meaning and quickly replied, "Gu Yuniang disobeyed my management today and sneaked out of Li Ying Palace; she hasn't returned since!"
"Yes, yes! None of us saw her today!"
The other Palace Maids echoed in agreement, none of them feeling any sympathy for the poor woman. After long years in the palace, they had grown numb to such things.
At this moment, the sky had darkened, and all evils were hidden in the night.
A few palace servants hurried down the corridor, carrying a large Sack. They reached the pond at the Cold Palace, and the white Sack sank to the bottom, creating a ripple on the surface.
Tian Feiyao had just returned to his chamber when Yunxin thoughtfully brought him a warming pot.
“Yunxin, I have a question for you. You must answer me honestly!” Tian Feiyao's deep eyes sparkled like diamonds in the candlelight, making Yunxin's heart race.
She hurriedly turned her face away and nodded vigorously.
“How much did you hear today outside the Cold Palace?” Yunxin had been by his side for some time; she was very loyal, but today's events were indeed suspicious.
Yunxin obediently lowered her head. “Reporting to Your Majesty, after the young lady and the Emperor entered the room, I knew everything.”
“Very good, quite honest! Did you really come in here risking punishment from the Queen just for your young lady?” Tian Feiyao looked at her noncommittally.
“Yes, part of it was for my young lady, and another part was for Your Majesty!” Yunxin took a deep breath and raised her head, looking directly at the man before her.
How she wished he could understand her feelings for him.
Tian Feiyao raised an eyebrow. “You like me?” It was supposed to be a casual remark, but his serious expression left Yunxin feeling flustered and unsure of how to respond.
