Ye Jingzhu opened her eyes and saw the bright lights in the ICU ward. She felt a bit dizzy.
"You’re awake," Shen Xingyu's voice came from above her.
"Shen Xingyu." Ye Jingzhu was very excited; he was still by her side, which must mean he still cared about her.
"Don't think too much," Shen Xingyu said coldly. "I just came to see if you were dead."
"Shen Xingyu." Ye Jingzhu felt a wave of disappointment; it turned out he still hated her.
"Now that you're awake, just sign the divorce agreement." Shen Xingyu threw the divorce papers at Ye Jingzhu's face.
Ye Jingzhu felt a wave of dizziness as she trembled and picked up the divorce agreement with shaking hands.
"Shen Xingyu, do you really hate me this much?" Ye Jingzhu looked at Shen Xingyu with tears in her eyes.
"I used to hate you, and now I hate you even more," Shen Xingyu said disdainfully as he looked at Ye Jingzhu.
"Why?" Ye Jingzhu asked in confusion. "You hated me before because you thought I was clinging to Mrs. Shen's position. Now that I'm giving that position to Du Qiaoyun, why do you still hate me?"
"Because Du Qiaoyun is innocent," Shen Xingyu said angrily. "And you are still trying to slander her."
"Hah." Ye Jingzhu let out a light laugh. "Shen Xingyu, have you forgotten? Du Qiaoyun's kidney failure is fake, her injuries are also fake, and my kidney has already been fed to the dogs by her."
"Ye Jingzhu." Shen Xingyu grabbed Ye Jingzhu by the neck, his anger boiling over. "Du Qiaoyun's kidney failure is real, and I have seen her injuries. Are you still going to say she is lying?"
"I..." Ye Jingzhu struggled to breathe as she looked at Shen Xingyu.
"Ye Jingzhu, you are truly a vicious woman," Shen Xingyu said forcefully as he tightened his grip on her neck. "I really want to strangle you."
Ye Jingzhu looked at Shen Xingyu and laughed despairingly; in his heart, Du Qiaoyun was sacred and untouchable.
"Ye Jingzhu, you really are a heartless woman," Shen Xingyu said coldly. "A woman like you deserves to have her kidneys taken out. I really want to know if you even have a heart."
"I certainly have a heart," Ye Jingzhu's tears swirled in her eyes.
"Ye Jingzhu, women like you don't deserve to live," Shen Xingyu said bitterly. "You should have your kidneys taken out; you should be locked away in a mental hospital for life."
Ye Jingzhu felt her breathing becoming increasingly difficult; her vision blurred as she looked at Shen Xingyu's face, which became less and less clear.
"Ye Jingzhu, do you know that just seeing you makes me feel sick?" Shen Xingyu continued, "A woman like you should just die."
"Heh." Ye Jingzhu let out a light laugh, turning her face away to hide her tears from Shen Xingyu. She didn't want Shen Xingyu to see her weak side.
Shen Xingyu released her grip on Ye Jingzhu, who gasped for breath. With tear-filled eyes, she looked at Shen Xingyu, but Shen Xingyu didn't even glance in her direction.
Ye Jingzhu lowered her head and saw the divorce agreement in her hands; she noticed that Shen Xingyu's name was already signed. Looking at the date, she realized it was April 16th. Their wedding day was May 16th.
"Shen Xingyu," Ye Jingzhu struggled to sit up from the bed, placing her feet on the floor, preparing to get up.
"What are you going to do?" Shen Xingyu asked.
"I need to go to the bathroom," Ye Jingzhu replied.
