"What did you say?" Du Qiaoyun looked at Shen Xingyu in disbelief, shaking her head. "No, it can't be. I clearly checked; it's Ye Jingzhu's heart beating in Wanwan's chest."
"That's because you don't want others to know your heart belongs to Wanwan," Shen Xingyu said coldly. "Du Qiaoyun, for so many years, you've been deceiving me."
"I haven't," Du Qiaoyun shouted. "I didn't deceive you; it was Ye Jingzhu who tricked you."
"At this point, you're still arguing," Shen Xingyu said, losing patience. "If I hadn't investigated, I would still be in the dark."
"You..." Du Qiaoyun finally realized that Shen Xingyu knew everything. Her heart sank. "When did you find out?"
"It was when you caused a scene at your wedding. I had Little Ma investigate," Shen Xingyu said with hatred in his eyes. "Du Qiaoyun, you are truly terrifying."
"Hahaha." Du Qiaoyun laughed. "I love you so much; how could you treat me like this?"
"Do you even have the right to say love?" Shen Xingyu scoffed. "Is your love for me just deception?"
"My feelings for you are genuine," Du Qiaoyun said passionately. "But Shen Xingyu, you never look at me; your heart only belongs to Ye Jingzhu."
"Shut up." Shen Xingyu shouted angrily towards the door, "Little Ma."
Little Ma immediately entered from outside. "Mr. Shen, what can I do for you?"
"Take her away and keep an eye on her; don't let her escape," Shen Xingyu ordered coldly.
"Yes."
Du Qiaoyun knew that if she fell into Shen Xingyu's hands, there would be no way out. She cried and pleaded, "Xingyu, please don't treat me like this; I love you so much."
Shen Xingyu looked at her with disgust. "Take her away."
"No, Xingyu, please don't do this to me." As Little Ma dragged her out, she cried out, "Xingyu, I love you; I truly love you."
Shen Xingyu furrowed his brows and looked at Nurse Li. "Get out."
Nurse Li hurriedly left.
He turned to look at Ye Jingzhu on the hospital bed and slowly walked to her side. Seeing her pale face made his heart ache.
He gently caressed her cheek. "Jingzhu, I was wrong; I really was wrong."
Shen Xingyu knew it wasn't safe here; he immediately transferred Ye Jingzhu to a VIP room with special care from all the doctors and nurses in the hospital.
Shen Xingyu stayed by Ye Jingzhu's side every day, watching her peaceful face, and he even felt that she would wake up at any moment. However, he waited for a long time, and Ye Jingzhu showed no signs of waking up.
Shen Xingyu kept vigil over Ye Jingzhu, watching her and guarding her. No one could understand his feelings, nor did he have anyone to confide in. He felt as if his heart had been hollowed out, and that sensation was truly unbearable.
Shen Xingyu knew that behind Du Qiaoyun was the Du Family. If he were to confront the Du Family now, it would bring him no benefits. He could not act against Du Qiaoyun just yet.
Shen Xingyu decided to capture Du Qiaoyun first and settle accounts with the Du Family once he was prepared. He understood that Du Qiaoyun would not let things go easily; sure enough, the next day she retaliated against Shen Group. The financial chain of Shen Group was broken, and he had to return to the company immediately.
"Jingzhu, something has happened at the company, and I must go back right away." Shen Xingyu held her hand. "You take care of yourself here, and I'll come to see you once I'm done."
Ye Jingzhu showed no reaction.
Shen Xingyu sighed, stood up, and turned to leave the hospital room.
