"Do you... do you have any evidence?"
Although Lin Yaru appeared to be calm, she couldn't help but swallow nervously to ease her tension.
"Evidence? You want evidence?" Suddenly, Yan Chengjie let out a low laugh.
"What... what are you laughing at?" Lin Yaru looked at Yan Chengjie, who seemed to know everything, and his penetrating gaze made her feel uneasy.
"You want evidence? Isn't it all written on your face?!"
Lin Yaru was truly not good at lying, and she was also a terrible actress. Even the worst of the worst actors wouldn't consider her anything more than a temporary performer, and she was definitely the most incompetent one at that.
Just by looking at her flickering eyes and the guilty expression that avoided meeting his gaze, he knew that Lin Yaru was definitely the culprit.
"I am not! I never lie! I want evidence! Do you understand? Stop slandering me! I'm very busy and don't have time to listen to your nonsense!" Lin Yaru evasively avoided Yan Chengjie's piercing black eyes.
"But it's strange, you don't need to admit it; I already know you're the murderer!" Yan Chengjie chuckled softly, but there was a chilling undertone hidden in his laughter.
"I don't know anything, and I won't admit to anything," Lin Yaru said proudly, glancing sideways at Yan Chengjie. "Unless... you can provide a photo or some kind of witness as evidence, please leave my house immediately. I have places to go and can't waste time with you!"
Lin Yaru had a sweet and captivating face that was hard to resist, but she also had a sharp tongue that left others helpless. She truly was a little angel among demons!
He should have given her a good spanking for the mistakes she made and the bold criticisms she threw at him. However, when he saw her, the intense anger he felt upon arrival dissipated, and all he wanted to do was grab her and kiss her fiercely.
"Ha ha, it's fine. We don't have to discuss this openly, but there's no rule against closing the door and secretly taking matters into our own hands, right?" Yan Chengjie squinted his black eyes, a wicked smile gradually spreading across his face.
"What... what? Vigilante justice? What... what do you want to do?" Lin Yaru suddenly felt that her situation was quite dangerous; she had an ominous feeling of being a sheep entering a tiger's den.
Yan Chengjie had never been a righteous person. Frustrated by his inability to find evidence of her being the culprit, he was likely to take revenge on her in private out of anger. Lin Yaru had no doubt about that.
