Yan Chengjie’s calm and self-composed facade was cracking piece by piece, and he could almost hear the sound of it breaking.
“Mr. Chen! Thank you very much for visiting our company. Let’s conclude today’s meeting here; I have other matters to attend to, so I won’t see you out!” After saying that, Yan Chengjie left the office without looking back. He paused at the door for a moment and said, “Secretary Lin, come to my office after you see him out.”
Lin Yaru stared in shock as he rushed out of the office, and even Chen Jianghui was stunned for quite a while.
“Uh, Mr. Chen, I apologize. Lamborghini called me about something; I will get in touch with you later to finalize the time for our next meeting,” Lin Yaru said, her beautiful face adorned with a charming smile as she repeatedly expressed her apologies to Chen Jianghui.
“There’s no need to be so polite; I should thank you today. I had a great time!”
“Don’t say that, Mr. Chen,” Lin Yaru replied kindly. “Let me see you down.”
“Okay, okay…”
Having a beauty accompany him made Chen Jianghui feel even more elated.
After seeing Chen Jianghui off, Lin Yaru returned to her office. She took the business growth report he had given her that morning and nervously knocked on Yan Chengjie’s Lamborghini office door.
“Lamborghini, was today’s schedule relatively smooth?!” Lin Yaru asked somewhat awkwardly, trying to make conversation.
"Very! Un! Smooth!" Yan Chengjie seemed to squeeze out each word through gritted teeth.
Chen Jianghui, the most notorious womanizer in the business world, could make anyone uncomfortable with just a glance from his lecherous eyes. Yet, Lin Yaru was still interacting with him in such a warm and intimate manner.
He couldn't see a hint of reluctance on her face; in fact, she seemed to be enjoying it!
"I didn't expect your diplomatic skills to be so impressive," Yan Chengjie said with an unfriendly expression.
"Hehe, it's nothing special. Thank you, it's part of my job!"
Lin Yaru didn't notice the odd tone in his voice and thought Yan Chengjie was complimenting her! She felt so happy! Since she joined Yan Group over a month ago, today was the first time Yan Chengjie had praised her!
Part of her job? Did she not know what her responsibilities as his Secretary were?! She should be showcasing her stunning smile to him, not flirting with clients and attracting unwanted attention!
"You need to understand that you are my Secretary, not his," Yan Chengjie said coldly, his displeasure evident for anyone to see.
Lin Yaru couldn't comprehend what she had done wrong this time. She felt inexplicably accused.
However, she was already used to Yan Chengjie's sarcastic nature. She knew that arguing would be futile, but as a Little Witch, she couldn't help but want to explain:
"The Lamborghini... but... he is your important client, and I am your Secretary. I have a responsibility..."
