"Is there something you need?" Lin Yaru steadied herself and tried to maintain a calm tone. He was now her benefactor, so she couldn't offend him; at least not until their parents had calmed down.
"I need you to come to the company immediately; there's an important document that needs your verification with me."
Yan Chengjie's tone was firm and non-negotiable. Yes! Today is a holiday, and he hadn't seen her all day; now he had come up with such a poor excuse.
"Now? But today is Sunday!" Lin Yaru felt a bit surprised and reminded Yan Chengjie without thinking.
"I can offer you double overtime pay!"
Yan Chengjie knew about Lin Yaru's parents and the 'economic dictatorship' policy they had imposed on her, so he tried to entice her with money.
