Chen Li felt a chill run down her spine—there were actually two thugs!
Now, there was no way for Chen Li to escape; she could only obediently take out her wallet. Inside, there were only a few red one-hundred-dollar bills and four or five ten-dollar bills.
As soon as the two thugs saw this, their expressions changed immediately.
"Is that all you've got?"
"I only have a few hundred dollars on me."
She was burdened with heavy debts, so she had always been very frugal, carrying little cash with her—at most, just two or three hundred dollars.
"Damn it! You filthy woman! How dare you lie to me! I see you won't cry until you see the coffin!" They had spent so much time tracking her for several days, and to find out she only had a few hundred dollars was infuriating; it wasn't even enough to fill their pockets!
The thug holding the knife to Chen Li's neck whispered threats at her, pressing the blade deeper into her skin without hesitation.
Chen Li's face turned pale, and her limbs felt weak.
"I really only have this few hundred dollars; I don't have any extra money..."
Now that it was so late and she was in a dead-end alley, Chen Li couldn't expect anyone to come to her rescue. It seemed she could only rely on herself.
However, could a petite and delicate young woman like her really fend off two strong thugs with her bare hands? And one of them was armed!
Needless to say, it was impossible! If she could subdue a thug, that would be pure fantasy!
With eyes shining brightly, the thug who had been fixated on Chen Li, after receiving a hint from his accomplice, suddenly snatched the small bag from Chen Li's hands and shook it vigorously by the bottom.
"Clatter!" Everything inside the bag immediately fell to the ground.
Inside her bag, just as Chen Li had said earlier—aside from a few hundred dollars, there was nothing else of value! Just some keys, nail clippers, a comb, and other trivial items that every girl carries with her.
Chen Li's heart raced uncontrollably as she looked at the thug in front of her with fear and trepidation, feeling the cold blade pressing against her neck, sending chills deep into her bones.
"Damn it, there's nothing here. What a waste of our time." The thug who was threatening Chen Li with a knife behind her cursed angrily after realizing there were no credit cards or anything valuable in the bag. He then turned to the thug in front of Chen Li and asked, "What should we do?"
The lecherous thug standing in front of Chen Li reached out his hand toward her chest.
