Chen Li ignored Yan Chengjie's friendly greeting and insisted on walking home by herself.

Suddenly, a panicked call from Chen Li echoed from deep within the alley, accompanied by the rapid sound of her high heels striking the cobblestones.

After all examinations were completed, Chen Li's mom was diagnosed with acute lobar pneumonia and required hospitalization. Yan Chengjie helped Chen Li pay for the hospital fees and completed the admission procedures before he left the hospital close to three in the morning.
