Lin Yaru stood in front of Yan Chengjie's office door. She took a deep breath, trying to motivate herself.
She had made up her mind; no matter what excuses or reasons Yan Chengjie might come up with, she absolutely could not allow him to manipulate and toy with her any longer! She was determined! Today, she had to leave Yan Group and Yan Chengjie, no matter what!
Lin Yaru lifted her chin and, without knocking, pushed open the door to the Lamborghini office. However, what greeted her eyes was a pair of figures tightly embracing and kissing each other.
Lin Yaru stared in shock at the passionate couple before her, as if struck by lightning; her mind went completely blank.
The three of them stood there awkwardly, staring at each other. After a while, it was Yan Chengjie who first regained his composure.
"Chen Li, you can go back now."
"Okay... Well then, Jie, goodbye!" Chen Li smiled charmingly at Yan Chengjie and gracefully walked out of the office. Even after the door had closed behind her for quite some time, Lin Yaru remained frozen in place.
"What’s going on?"
Yan Chengjie sighed lightly, picked up the materials he needed for the upcoming meeting, and asked casually.
"You... you actually... kissed her?!" Lin Yaru felt numb; she didn't even know what she was saying.
"Lin Yaru? What's wrong with you?" Yan Chengjie furrowed his attractive brows and looked up at the shocked Lin Yaru with confusion.
"You... how could you kiss her!"
A tight feeling that she had never experienced before gripped Lin Yaru's chest, causing her pain that made it hard for her to breathe.
"I and her... we are already in the past. Just now, it was merely a greeting kiss between pure friends!"
This girl seemed like a clever one, but how could a glimpse of something inappropriate completely throw her off balance?
Aside from that statement, Lin Yaru seemed unable to say anything else. The pain swelling in her chest and the strange feeling deep within her eyes, as if something was about to burst forth, made her feel incredibly uncomfortable.
In a daze, Lin Yaru seemed to see Yan Chengjie anxiously pacing in front of her.
"Lin Yaru, please! Don't be like this!"
Yan Chengjie anxiously walked back and forth in the office. He suddenly approached Lin Yaru, reaching out as if to touch her cheek, but then he dejectedly withdrew his hand and continued to flail around the office like a headless chicken.
