Du Qiaoyun and Su Mengman were fighting fiercely, both forgetting about life and death. Su Mengman grabbed Du Qiaoyun's hair and slammed her head against the ground, shouting, "I'll kill you, I'll kill you."
"Ah." Du Qiaoyun's head was bleeding from the impact, but she refused to back down. She seized Su Mengman's collar and retorted, "I'll kill you, I'll kill you."
"There's been a murder, there's been a murder!" Su Mengman suddenly screamed. "I'm calling the police; I'm going to report you for murder."
"Shut up." Du Qiaoyun was furious, gripping Su Mengman's collar tightly. "Do you believe I’ll kill you?"
"There's been a murder, there's been a murder!" Su Mengman continued to shout loudly.
"Shut up." Du Qiaoyun slapped Su Mengman hard across the face. "If you keep yelling, I’ll really kill you."
"Go ahead and kill me; I don't want to live like this anyway," Su Mengman said recklessly, knowing that living was just suffering for her. "I want to see Shen Xingyu; I want to tell him it was you who made me go kill Ye Jingzhu."
"You dare," Du Qiaoyun glared at Su Mengman viciously, not expecting her to threaten her.
"What do I have to fear?" Su Mengman laughed loudly. "If worse comes to worst, we both die together."
"You." Du Qiaoyun looked at Su Mengman angrily and said fiercely, "Fine, since you want to die so badly, I'll help you with that. I'm going to break your limbs."
"Ah." Su Mengman didn't expect Du Qiaoyun to be so ruthless; she waved her cane wildly. "I don't want to, I don't want to."
Du Qiaoyun snatched the cane from Su Mengman's hands and said viciously, "Su Mengman, go die!" She raised the cane and swung it down towards Su Mengman's head.
"Ah." Su Mengman couldn't dodge in time; her head was struck hard. She felt dizzy and everything went black as she fainted.
Seeing Su Mengman motionless on the ground, Du Qiaoyun realized she had hit too hard. Trembling, she reached out her hand to check for breath under Su Mengman's nose.
No breath.
Du Qiaoyun stumbled backward in terror, sitting on the ground with her hands supporting her weight. Her eyes widened in shock—Su Mengman was dead; she had actually killed Su Mengman.
Du Qiaoyun didn't even know how she managed to escape back home. She ran frantically with only one thought in her mind: to get away from there.
Once home, she locked herself in her room, curling up on the bed with her arms wrapped around her knees, staring blankly at the floor. Images of Su Mengman covered in blood and the moment of her last breath flashed repeatedly in her mind.
She covered her head with both hands and said, "Ah, stop thinking, stop thinking."
After a long while, Du Qiaoyun finally calmed down. She knew she couldn't just sit and wait; she had to find a way to resolve the situation. She understood what awaited her if she did not take action.
"Ye Jingzhu," Du Qiaoyun muttered to herself, "it's all your fault, all your fault. Why don't you just die? Why don't you just die?"
Du Qiaoyun placed all her resentment on Ye Jingzhu, believing that if it weren't for her, she wouldn't have become who she was now.
She realized she could no longer stay here; she had to leave. But she couldn't shake off the desire to kill Ye Jingzhu.
She knew she had to make a choice: to flee or to seek revenge!
"Ye Jingzhu, Ye Jingzhu." Du Qiaoyun clenched her fists tightly, knowing that no matter what, she had to kill Ye Jingzhu.
Ye Jingzhu walked out of the apartment carrying a garbage bag. Her stomach hurt badly, causing her to break out in cold sweat.
She thought about enduring the pain until she could get to the hospital. After throwing the garbage into the bin, she slowly made her way back to the apartment.
Hearing the sound of a car engine, Ye Jingzhu didn't have time to turn around before the car sped towards her.
With a screech, the car came to a sudden stop right in front of her, but she still fell to the ground.
"Jingzhu, are you okay?" Mo Liangzhe got out of the car and hurriedly helped Ye Jingzhu up.
"I'm fine," Ye Jingzhu shook her head in disbelief, realizing that the driver was Mo Liangzhe.
