"Da Huang!" I shouted, feeling an immense pain in my heart.
But I dared not linger and could only continue to run. Fortunately, the Giant Grasshopper seemed unwilling to leave the patch of grass and did not pursue me.
I ran until I was exhausted, glancing back to see that the Giant Grasshopper had not followed. Only then did I let out a sigh of relief.
I stopped, gasping for breath, looking at the completely unfamiliar scenery around me, feeling at a loss. What should I do? Where should I go now? I didn't know.
But I knew one thing: I had to leave this place as soon as possible; otherwise, I might die here. So, I gathered my spirits and walked along the edge of the lake.
I dared not enter the woods because I had no idea what might be inside, nor did I want to stray too far from the lake for fear of getting lost again.
After walking for about an hour, I suddenly spotted a small island on the surface of the lake ahead. The island wasn't large, but it looked lush and vibrant with life.
I thought to myself, "Since I don't know where else to go, why not check out that little island?" So, I swam toward it.
Upon reaching the island, I found it much larger than I had imagined, with stunning scenery—shady green trees, blooming flowers, and various birds flitting through the woods, chirping melodiously.
In the center of the island stood a beautiful white villa that resembled a palace.
I thought, "Such a beautiful island must have an owner; perhaps the owner of that villa can help me." So, I walked toward the villa.
When I reached the entrance, I rang the doorbell. Soon, the door opened, and a woman dressed in black stepped out.
She was extremely beautiful but had a very pale complexion; her deep-set eyes made her look quite haggard.
"Little one, who are you?" the woman asked in a hoarse voice.
I replied, "Auntie, I got lost and don't know how I ended up here. Can you help me?"
"Lost?" The woman frowned and asked, "Where did you come from?"
I said, "I came from the North China Plain, but I don't know how I got here..."
"North China Plain?" The woman paused for a moment and then laughed, "Hehe, you're quite the trickster. How could you possibly come from the North China Plain to our place? Do you know where this is?"
I shook my head.
"This is Tibet," the woman said.
"Tibet?" I exclaimed, my mouth agape in surprise. I realized that I had seen snow-capped mountains and had ended up on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
I asked, "Auntie, can you tell me how to get home?"
The woman thought for a moment and said, "Come inside with me for now."
So I followed her into the villa.
The villa was very luxurious, with thick carpets, many oil paintings hanging on the walls, and various antique furniture that looked very expensive.
The woman led me to a room on the second floor, opened the door, and said, "You can stay here for now."
I looked around the room; the bed was covered with a pristine white sheet, a stuffed doll rested on the pillow, and there was a desk beside it with several textbooks and a pencil case on it. It seemed that this was the woman's study.
