It was so surreal; she actually got shot, a scene that could only be seen on television was happening to her.
So, she was now in the hospital, and she hadn’t died.
“Ji Yan, are you okay?”
This was the first thing Mo Li said upon waking up.
She remembered someone was looking to cause trouble for Ji Yan; perhaps she took the bullet for him.
She wondered if Ji Yan was still in danger.
A simple sentence, yet it moved Ji Yan to tears.
Mo Li had just woken up and was already concerned about him; he felt incredibly fortunate.
“I’m fine, really. Don’t worry, it’s nothing.”
Ji Yan held Mo Li's hand tightly.
“Your recovery is going very well,” the doctor said as he put down his instruments. “The patient shouldn’t get too agitated. With proper care, everything should be fine.”
“Okay, thank you, Doctor.”
Ji Yan answered repeatedly.
Seeing this, Wenbo was amazed.
When did the boss become so obedient?
So obedient that he resembled a child who just received candy.
Doctor gave a few more instructions and then left with a large group of people.
“Mo Li, you’re okay now, that’s great.”
Ji Yan held Mo Li's hand tightly, still unable to calm down from the excitement.
“Boss, Doctor said that patients shouldn't get too excited.”
Wenbo gently reminded him.
His boss was even more excited than the patient; he shouldn't affect her emotions.
“Oh, right.”
Ji Yan accepted the advice readily, releasing Mo Li's hand and tucking her in with the blanket.
“Ji Yan, how long have I been unconscious?” Mo Li asked.
Seeing the change in Ji Yan's expression, it seemed she had been out for quite a while.
“Hmm, a little over a day,” Ji Yan replied.
Mo Li looked at the clock on the wall, calculating the time, her gaze dimming slightly.
“So, that means it’s exactly the time when Xiao Ran and I were supposed to hold our wedding.”
It was already nine o'clock; Xiao Ran probably wouldn’t wait for her any longer.
Ji Yan's enthusiasm was doused by this statement.
With a cool tone, she asked, “Are you disappointed? Do you still want to rush to the wedding?”
Mo Li slowly shook her head against the pillow.
“No. I’m just worried that Xiao Ran will wait for me. I don’t want to keep him waiting; I don’t want to owe him too much.”
