As the bus finally announced, "Last stop, Cuigu University! Cuigu University!" Jingxuan felt a deep sense of relief. The vehicle slowly came to a stop in front of the Cuigu University sign, and as the doors opened, a rush of fresh air poured into the crowded cabin, bringing a hint of coolness and comfort. Jingxuan quickly took a few deep breaths, trying to recover from the motion sickness she had just experienced.
She swiftly stood up and grabbed her backpack—her only luggage. Since most of her personal items were left in the school dormitory, she had only brought the essentials for this trip. As Jingxuan got off the bus, she pondered whether any classmates or friends had already returned to the dormitory ahead of her.
Standing in front of the bus stop sign, she looked up at the vast campus plain. The students and visitors there were bustling with energy and vitality. The school had regained its liveliness after the holiday, and everyone was busy starting the new semester. Jingxuan walked slowly towards the direction of the women's dormitory with a faint smile. She walked through the familiar paths of the campus, filled with anticipation for the new semester and curiosity about the future. This campus had become her second home, and every return made her feel both familiar and fresh.
Jingxuan continued along the campus paths, passing the vibrant activity center and student cafeteria, surrounded by lively scenery. Students chatted and laughed inside and outside the activity center, while the cafeteria emitted the aroma of food and the sound of clinking utensils. All of this added a warm and lively atmosphere to the campus. However, as Jingxuan approached the women's dormitory, this atmosphere seemed to have changed slightly.
At the dormitory entrance, a middle-aged woman—the dormitory supervisor—was issuing commands to the returning students with an unquestionable attitude. She was dressed in a neat uniform, with a serious and firm demeanor, resembling a strict principal. Her voice was loud and clear, each word exuding authority and discipline, as if freezing the surrounding air.
"Remember, this is everyone's shared home, and we must work together to maintain its cleanliness and harmony!" the dormitory supervisor continued, her words carrying an undeniable seriousness. Her gaze swept through the numerous students, seemingly checking if anyone was not following the rules. Her presence made some newly arrived parents feel nervous, as they carefully avoided her gaze, fearing being implicated by her stern attitude.
Jingxuan listened quietly on the side, feeling both awe and respect for the strict requirements of the dormitory supervisor. She knew that these rules were in place to ensure the cleanliness of the dormitory environment and the comfort of the students. Under the management of the dormitory supervisor, the dormitory area was always well-organized, with every corner clean and tidy.
Jingxuan gently placed her student ID near the card reader at the dormitory entrance. With a crisp "beep" sound, the door lock clicked open, and she pushed open the door to her new semester life. Stepping into the lobby, she was drawn to the motivational posters and campus event notices hanging on the walls. These posters were vibrant and full of energy, showcasing the diversity and richness of campus life. Each poster seemed to tell her a little story, allowing her to experience the unique cultural atmosphere of the school.
Walking through the front hall, she arrived at the spacious and bright lounge. This was a place where students gathered to socialize and exchange ideas. Several groups of sofas and tables were casually arranged, with some students reading, chatting, or using their laptops. In one corner of the lounge, there was a small coffee area offering hot drinks and snacks, providing a good place for students to rest and relax.
Jingxuan continued on, passing through the corridors leading to the various dormitory areas. The corridor floors were bright and clean, with various notices and decorative paintings hanging on the walls. Each dormitory door was neat and uniform, with the room number and resident's name clearly marked on the doorplate. She felt a quiet and orderly atmosphere, different from the lively daytime, making the corridor seem even more peaceful at this moment.
Arriving at the elevator in front of Building B dormitory, Jingxuan took off her Bluetooth earphones while waiting for the elevator, carefully placing them back in her backpack. Her eyes scanned the familiar yet fresh environment. The elevator door slowly opened, and she stepped in, filled with anticipation and curiosity.
The elevator ascended slowly, taking Jingxuan to her room on the third floor. The mirrored walls of the elevator reflected her slightly tired but expectant face. She contemplated the challenges and opportunities the new semester would bring, while also looking forward to seeing her roommates and friends again. The elevator reached the third floor, the doors opened, and a long corridor appeared before her. She stepped out of the elevator and quietly made her way to her dorm room.
Jingxuan Carrying a backpack, she slowly walked through the corridor of Building B on the third floor, arriving at the door marked "B3104". The location of this dormitory was ideal for her—it was situated near the elevator and stairwell, making her comings and goings especially convenient, especially when rushing to class or bringing heavy items back to the dorm.
Furthermore, this location had an additional benefit: there was a small cooking area and a communal refrigerator nearby. Although the cooking area was small, it was equipped with basic cooking facilities such as a microwave, electric kettle, and some basic kitchen utensils for students to prepare or heat up food. The communal refrigerator made it convenient for students to store drinks and food, especially in the summer when having access to cold drinks at any time was a great pleasure.
On the other hand, there is a shared bathroom area near the dormitory, including toilets and shower rooms. The cleanliness and maintenance of these facilities are the responsibility of the school, maintaining good hygiene. For Jingxuan, this configuration greatly enhances her convenience, making her more comfortable in dormitory life.
Jingxuan is satisfied with being able to live in such a convenient location. She stands in front of the door of B3104, gently inserts the key, and opens the door to her new semester life.
