With a clang, the tip of the spear struck the Centipede Spirit again. This time, although it did not pierce through the Centipede Spirit's body, it broke through its hard shell, creating a gash. 0

"Success!" I exclaimed with joy. 0

He withdrew the spear and lunged again, this time aiming for the Centipede Spirit's head. Just as the spear tip was about to hit the Centipede Spirit, it suddenly opened its large mouth and spewed out a cloud of black smoke. 0

"Get back!" I shouted, quickly jumping a few steps away. 0

Xiao Xiao and A Meng also noticed the black smoke and hurriedly moved to a safe distance. 0

"That was close; that smoke must be highly toxic," Xiao Xiao said, still shaken. 0

"I didn't expect the Centipede Spirit could spray poisonous mist; it's incredible," A Meng added in surprise. 0

"It seems this Centipede Spirit is even more troublesome than we thought," I said, frowning. 0

He stared at the Centipede Spirit, continuously pondering a strategy. Suddenly, an idea struck him. 0

"I have a plan!" I said excitedly. 0

"What plan?" Xiao Xiao and A Meng asked eagerly. 0

"Look, the Centipede Spirit has a long body but short legs, so its movement speed isn't very fast," I explained. 0

"That's true," Xiao Xiao and A Meng nodded in agreement. 0

"If we can jump onto its body and attack its head and tail, it won't be able to defend itself," I suggested. 0

"That's a great idea!" Xiao Xiao and A Meng's eyes lit up. 0

"Alright, let's do it. Prepare for battle," I commanded. 0

He raised his spear and charged towards the Centipede Spirit. 0

Seeing me rush forward, the Centipede Spirit opened its mouth again and released another cloud of poisonous mist. 0

I was ready for it; I quickly jumped to the side to avoid the mist. Before the Centipede Spirit could react, he leaped fiercely onto its head. 0

With both hands raised high, he thrust the spear down with all his might. 0

With a soft thud, the tip of the spear pierced the head of the Centipede Spirit, driving deep until it reached the hilt. The Centipede Spirit writhed in pain, thrashing violently. I gripped the spear tightly, refusing to let go despite its frantic struggles. 0

Seeing this, Xiao Xiao and A Meng rushed over, swinging their weapons down towards the Centipede Spirit's tail. The three of us worked together, and after an intense battle, we finally chopped the Centipede Spirit into several pieces, completely eliminating the monster. 0

"Great! We did it!" the three of us exclaimed excitedly. 0

"This Centipede Spirit was really tough; we almost fell victim to it," Xiao Xiao said. 0

"Yeah, this monster was harder to deal with than we expected," A Meng added. 0

"Alright, let's keep moving. There might be even stronger monsters waiting for us ahead," I suggested. 0

After resting for a moment, we continued onward. Eventually, we emerged from Death Valley and arrived at a plain. 0

"We finally made it out of this cursed place," A Meng said. 0

"Yeah, it wasn't easy," Xiao Xiao replied. 0

"Look, there seems to be a village up ahead," I pointed out. 0

The three of us looked forward and indeed saw a small village nestled halfway up a hill. The village wasn't large, consisting of only a few dozen households, and the houses were quite unique with pointed roofs covered in straw. 0

"Let's go take a look," I said. 0

As we entered the village, we noticed it was eerily quiet with not a single person in sight. 0

"Strange, where is everyone?" Xiao Xiao wondered aloud. 0

"Yeah, where did all the people go?" A Meng echoed her confusion. 0
