After he made up his mind, he took Xiao Xiao and A Meng along the riverbank to look for a way to cross the river. The three of them walked along the Futu River for half a day, only to see the river stretch endlessly, with no idea where it ended. Their mood was heavy, and they didn't know what to do. 0

"It seems we can't cross this river," Xiao Xiao said. 0
"Yeah, it's too wide and the current is too strong," A Meng replied. 0
"I think we can only make a raft," I suggested. 0
"A raft?" Xiao Xiao was taken aback. 0
"Yes, let's find some trees and make a raft to cross the river," I explained. 0
"Looks like that's our only option," Xiao Xiao nodded. 0

So, the three of them continued walking along the riverbank in search of trees. Suddenly, Da Huang, who was ahead, started shouting excitedly. 0
"What did he find?" I wondered. 0
I hurried over and saw a stone cliff ahead, covered in vines, with a large gourd hanging from it. The gourd was enormous, over a meter in diameter, bright green, and radiating an enticing glow. 0
"What a huge gourd!" Xiao Xiao exclaimed. 0
"This gourd is truly rare," A Meng added in surprise. 0
"This gourd would be perfect for making a raft," I said. 0
"But it's growing on the cliff; how do we get down to pick it?" Xiao Xiao asked. 0
"It seems we'll have to climb down the cliff to get it," I replied. 0
"Climb down? That's too dangerous," Xiao Xiao exclaimed. 0
"Yes, it's very dangerous," A Meng agreed. 0
"It's not that dangerous; you two stay up here while I go down to pick it," I assured them. 0

I grabbed onto the vines and began to slide down. 0

The stones on the cliff were sharp and jagged, as sharp as knives. If one were to slide down, it was very likely they would get cut by the rocks. I couldn't worry about that; he grabbed a few vines and alternately slid down until he finally reached the side of the Gourd. 0

He hugged the Gourd and shook it vigorously a few times, finding it quite secure, which eased his mind significantly. He grabbed the vines on the Gourd and pulled hard, bringing it up. He held onto the Gourd and pushed it upward with all his strength. 0

Seeing this, Xiao Xiao and A Meng quickly grabbed the Gourd and pulled it up to the top of the cliff with all their might. The three of them worked together to push the Gourd down the mountain, which then rolled down the slope to the riverbank. 0

"What do we do now?" Xiao Xiao asked. 0
"We'll use wooden paddles to row it across the river," I replied. 0
He took out some tools, whittled a few wooden paddles, and placed them on top of the Gourd. 0
"We'll take turns rowing and cross the river as quickly as possible," I said. 0

He was the first to jump onto the Gourd, using his hands to paddle towards the center of the river. Xiao Xiao and A Meng also jumped onto the Gourd, paddling with their hands as they followed me toward the center of the river. 0

Although the Gourd was large, its buoyancy was not very good; as soon as all three of them got on, it sank down, nearly submerging in the river water. The three of them turned pale with fear and quickly stood up straight to lighten their weight. They paddled with their hands toward the center of the river. 0

The waves in the center were quite strong, lifting them high one moment and then tossing them into a low trough the next, creating a thrilling experience. The three of them clung tightly to the Gourd, not daring to let go, allowing it to carry them forward. 0

Fortunately, there was enough space on top of the Gourd for all three of them to stand without falling into the water. They took turns paddling, using the gentle breeze and river waves to speed up their crossing. After much effort, they finally caught sight of the opposite bank and were filled with joy. 0
