We continued our journey with the Divine Turtle Ameng. Although the mountain path was difficult, we soon reached the summit.
Looking down at the mountains, we saw Tiantai Mountain surrounded by peaks, resembling stars encircling the moon.
"Let's head down," I said, "we can rest at the foot of Tiantai Mountain tonight and climb tomorrow."
"Sounds good," everyone agreed.
The four of us descended the mountain and continued along the valley. Despite some hustle and bustle along the way, we managed to stay safe. Finally, we arrived at the foot of Tiantai Mountain.
Tiantai Mountain towered into the clouds, with countless giant rocks stacked upon one another, forming a platform that seemed to connect with the sky.
"Is this really Tiantai Mountain?" I gazed at the peak with awe.
"Yes, it should be here," Ameng replied.
"Then let's spend the night at the foot of Tiantai Mountain and climb tomorrow," Xiao Xiao suggested.
"Alright," everyone agreed again.
We searched for a path up Tiantai Mountain but found no way to ascend.
"How are we supposed to get up there?" I worriedly asked.
"We can only look for a path along the platform," Ameng said.
So we walked around Tiantai Mountain and finally found a small trail leading to the summit.
"This is it!" I exclaimed excitedly.
The four of us climbed up the path, enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way. A ray of bright sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves and fell on our faces.
Chirping birds hopped on branches, singing joyfully. Our spirits lifted, and our steps became lighter.
"Look over there! There's a waterfall!" I pointed ahead.
Everyone turned to look and saw a silvery waterfall cascading in the distance.
"It's truly magnificent!" A Meng exclaimed.
"This water is very clear and drinkable," I said as I crouched down, scooping up a handful of spring water and tasting it.
"Then let's take a break here for a while," Xiao Xiao suggested.
"Okay," everyone agreed.
We sat down by the spring, took out our food and water bottles to replenish our energy.
"What do you think the top of the mountain will be like?" I asked curiously.
"I imagine it will be like a fairyland," A Meng said dreamily.
"No matter what, as long as we can go up and take a look, it will be a happy thing," Xiao Xiao added.
We continued to climb along the green vines on the rocky mountain, enjoying the beautiful scenery, sometimes singing loudly, sometimes falling into silence.
Suddenly, a clear sound of water caught our attention.
Looking in the direction of the sound, we saw a stream cascading down from above, landing on a rock below and forming a jade-green pool.
Under the glow of the setting sun, a rainbow appeared above the pool, creating an exquisite sight.
"This place is so beautiful; if it weren't for the time constraint, I would love to stay here for a few more days," I marveled.
"Yes, once we complete this mission, we must come back here to play," Xiao Xiao echoed.
"We need to find a place to rest," A Meng reminded us. "We have to continue our journey tomorrow."
Everyone nodded and continued on their way.
Finally, we found a suitable spot to lean against under a large boulder.
However, as we approached, we saw a pile of white bones.
"Hey, what is this?" I exclaimed in surprise.
"It looks like the remains of a giant eagle," A Meng observed after examining it closely.
"This eagle must have been guarding this mountain," Xiao Xiao said.
"Then we should give it a proper burial to show our respect," I suggested.
So, we found a shovel and dug a hole by the mountain's edge, carefully placing the eagle's bones into the pit and covering them up.
"Hey, what is this?" Xiao Xiao asked, holding two long bones.
