Fu Qingqing followed behind us, greeting us in a lukewarm manner.
Grandma smiled gently, "Qingqing, are you feeling better?"
"Much better," Fu Qingqing glanced at Fu Guanbai, "Thank you for your concern, sister-in-law."
Grandma sighed softly, "Qingqing, you've lost a lot of weight."
Fu Qingqing touched her face, "Really? It might be due to the change in environment."
Grandma wanted to say something more, but Fu Qingqing had already turned her head to look at Fu Guanbai, "Brother, I had a nightmare last night."
Fu Guanbai frowned, "You had a nightmare?"
"Yes," Fu Qingqing nodded, fear evident on her face, "I dreamed of when I was a child, when our family was happily together... but then my father died, and my mother and I were kicked out of our home, left to wander the streets..."
As she spoke, her eyes began to redden.
Fu Guanbai's expression changed, "Don't say anymore!"
Fu Qingqing wiped her tears, "Brother, I've never had a father since I was little; it was you who raised me... To me, you are my real brother."
She looked up at Fu Guanbai with longing eyes, "Brother, you're all I have left."
Fu Guanbai's expression was complicated; he remained silent.
Grandma's face grew increasingly grim.
I gently held her hand, signaling her not to act rashly.
Seeing that Fu Guanbai wasn't speaking, Fu Qingqing turned to Fu Guangbai, "Sister-in-law, I've never had a mother to teach me; there are many things I don't understand. If I make mistakes in the future, can you forgive me?"
Her words were clearly mocking Grandma's small-mindedness.
Grandma trembled with anger, "You..."
I quickly pressed down on Grandma's hand and smiled at Fu Qingqing, "Auntie, my mother is gentle; if you make mistakes, she definitely won't blame you."
Fu Qingqing scoffed coldly, "Do you have a say in this?"
"Of course I do," I blinked innocently, "You are my father's sister. I am my father's daughter-in-law; our statuses are the same."
Fu Qingqing was left speechless and pale-faced by my response.
She took a deep breath and coldly stated, "I am not the same as you."
"Of course it's different," I nodded. "You are my father-in-law's sister, and I am my father-in-law's daughter-in-law. How can we be the same?"
Fu Qingqing was left speechless by my words. She glared at me fiercely, a hint of resentment flashing in her eyes. I pretended not to see it and continued to smile at her.
Fu Qingqing coldly laughed, "Stop acting all high and mighty. I know what you're thinking."
I raised an eyebrow, "Oh? Then tell me, what am I thinking?"
Fu Qingqing turned to Fu Guanbai, "Brother, I can't go on like this... I can't eat or sleep well every day..."
She slowly walked up to Fu Guanbai, raised her hand, and gently touched his face. "Brother, I want to be with you."
Fu Guanbai's expression changed suddenly as he pushed her away forcefully.
Fu Qingqing fell to the ground, looking at him in disbelief. "Brother?"
Fu Guanbai's face turned pale with anger. "How dare you!"
Fu Qingqing bit her lip, "Brother, I'm serious! I really want to be with you!"
"Shut up!" Fu Guanbai shouted angrily. "It's impossible for us!"
Fu Qingqing's face went white. "Why?"
"Because I'm your brother!" Fu Guanbai said coldly. "How can siblings do such a thing?"
Fu Qingqing was left speechless by his words. She stared blankly for a long time before suddenly laughing. "Brother, you're lying to me. If you really see me as your sister, then why are you so cold to me?"
Fu Guanbai was taken aback. "What are you saying?"
Fu Qingqing wiped her tears away. "Since we were little, you've always been distant with me. You don't like me and even had your wife chase me away..."
"I didn't!" Fu Guanbai's expression changed again. "Don't talk nonsense!"
