The past glory and innocence were completely shattered in that moment. Eric's betrayal struck like a sudden storm, bringing me unprecedented pain and loss. When my family learned of my betrayal, they ruthlessly chose to cast me out. They accused me of being unworthy of the family name, believing I had tarnished the family's reputation. Thus, I was abandoned by my family, left alone as a forsaken wanderer. 0

I fled to this distant small town, far away from past glories and pains. Without the protection of my family, I had to rely on my wits and strategies to gradually find my footing in this unfamiliar place. After some time and effort, I started a small business, concealing my identity as a merchant. I knew that I was not yet strong enough to confront those who had hurt me, but I was willing to wait for the right moment to seek revenge. 0

At night, I lay alone in this shabby apartment in the small town, contemplating my future. The distant sound of church bells often reminded me that life goes on, regardless of the past. However, every time I closed my eyes, Eric's shadow would emerge in my mind—his disdainful smile, his indifferent gaze, and the scene of him contemptuously casting me aside as he walked away. 0

I could not forget his betrayal nor forgive myself for my earlier naivety. I repeatedly told myself that revenge was the only way out. Curled up in bed in the dilapidated apartment, which contained only a bed, a table, and a chair, with peeling walls and a dim chandelier overhead, I clutched the blanket tightly. Despite it being autumn, I felt an unbearable heat rising within me, fueled by my hatred for Eric. 0

I considered many ways to exact revenge, but I knew that with my current abilities, I could not harm him at all. Eric was a formidable enemy; he not only had powerful connections and resources but also unparalleled cunning and means. I had to endure and wait for the best opportunity. 0

Suddenly, thunder rumbled outside, followed by torrential rain pouring down. I got up and walked to the window, watching the downpour with mixed emotions. The rain came so unexpectedly, just like Eric's betrayal had caught me off guard. As the rain intensified, my thoughts were interrupted by the sound of raindrops; I closed the window in an attempt to shut out the storm outside. 0

Back in bed, I lay under the covers again, but found myself unable to sleep. I thought of Eric, remembering his gaze and his smile. He took my first kiss, stole everything from me, and then ruthlessly abandoned me. I couldn't accept this reality; my heart was filled with anger and resentment. The rain outside gradually weakened, and my consciousness began to blur. In a half-dreaming state, I kept contemplating my revenge plan, thinking about how to make Eric pay. 0

The next morning, after a quick wash-up, I hurried to my company. Despite having not slept all night, I couldn't allow myself to wallow in sadness. I had to work hard and continuously improve my abilities to prepare for revenge. The company was small, with only a dozen employees, but everyone respected me greatly. They knew my identity and my past, yet they did not look down on me; instead, they worked even harder to support me. 0

"Miss Isabelle, good morning." 0
"Good morning." 0
I smiled as I greeted my employees before driving back to my small apartment. Although the apartment was old, it was spotless. I sat in a chair, opened the notebook on the table, and began planning the future development of the company. I knew that to seek revenge, I had to become stronger. My company may be small, but it was the first step in my revenge plan. I needed to grow the business and accumulate enough capital so that I could get closer to Eric and strike him where it hurt. 0

As night fell, the small town was enveloped in silence. 0
