After a night's rest in Dragon Palace City, Avira and her companions returned to the forest full of mystery and danger. Under the green shade, sunlight dappled the ground, creating a beautiful interplay of light and shadow. They stepped onto the soft moss, their footsteps light and careful, seemingly blending with the forest's atmosphere.
However, this tranquility was soon shattered by a sudden burst of noise. Avira immediately furrowed her brow, her eyes flashing with vigilance. A figure appeared ahead, a puppeteer wearing a hat and strange attire - Pinocao.
Pinocchio's face bore a cunning and peculiar smile, and his eyes were filled with strangeness. Standing behind him was an army composed of puppets, their eyes empty and lifeless, yet emitting an unsettling aura.
"Oh, look at the fine guests we have here!" Pinocchio said mockingly, his voice sharp and grating, like the sound of rubbing worn wood. "What brings you here, brave travelers?"
Avira remained calm, with a slight upward curve at the corner of her mouth, revealing a hint of a humorous smile. "We're just passing through, sir. But your 'welcoming' approach here is quite creative."
Beside her, Aidan tightened his grip on the axe in his hand, facing the eerie group of puppets with exceptional vigilance. "These puppets... they don't seem quite right."
Pinocchio's smile became even more sinister, and he shook his finger. "Oh, these are my masterpieces. You better not underestimate them."
Loren quietly observed the situation, his eyes revealing distrust. "We better be careful, there may be danger here."
Iliad, staring silently at Pinocchio and his puppet army, his gaze cold and piercing, as if trying to see through Pinocchio's true intentions.
Seeing this, Pinocchio's smile gradually fades, his voice turning dark: "Oh, it seems you're not intending to communicate in a friendly manner. Well then, let our 'game' begin."
Avira couldn't help but complain, "So many fairy tale characters have undergone gender swaps, and yet you've managed to stay the same." As soon as the words were spoken, the puppet army moved mechanically and launched an attack against them.
A fierce battle ensued. Despite their stiff movements, the puppets were numerous and their attacks were intense. Avira fought side by side with Caspar, the latter's eyes filled with concern and protection for Avira. Whenever a puppet approached Avira, Caspar would reveal his brutal side like a wild beast, using his strong physique and charming face to become a solid shield for Avira.
Loren, usually careless, showed his sharpness in battle. His long sword moved like a dancer, gracefully striking down puppet after puppet. However, in one attack, he was accidentally scratched on the face by a powerful puppet that suddenly appeared, and blood flowed down his handsome face.
Avira immediately rushed forward, swiftly knocking down the puppet and said to Loren with concern, "Be careful, you are the one among us who needs beauty the most." Her words carried a light teasing tone but also revealed her care.
Aidan is exceptionally brave on the battlefield, his red short hair shining in the sunlight, and every swing of his axe is full of strength and passion. Although he often appears shy in front of Avira, in battle, he is like a brave lion, fearlessly challenging strong enemies.
Iliad, on the other hand, stands quietly to the side, his silver long hair fluttering in the wind, his eyes revealing depth and calmness. Whenever he casts spells, light flashes at his fingertips, healing and protecting his companions. Every move he makes seems so reserved and mysterious, as if hiding an unknown power.
After a fierce battle, the puppet legion was finally defeated, and Pinocchio escaped in frustration. Everyone was exhausted but thankfully uninjured.
Later, they found a small cabin hidden deep in the forest and decided to rest there. Loren, with a facial injury, chose to go out alone and lay on the grass, contemplating something.
Avira walked over to Loren with a handful of herbs, crouched down, and gently applied the medicine to his wound. Her movements were light and careful, and her eyes were filled with comfort. "It looks like your beauty has taken a bit of a hit this time, but don't worry, it will be fine soon," Avira teased, trying to lighten the mood.
Loren looked at Avira with a flash of gratitude in his eyes. He whispered, " Avira, you always appear in the most dangerous times, saving me from the brink."
Avira smiled, "We are companions, it's only natural to help each other." Her voice was gentle, yet it carried a hint of determination.
Loren's eyes flashed with determination. He gazed into the distance and said slowly, "Avira, I've made up my mind. I will help you unravel the mysteries of this world, no matter the cost. Our journey is far from over."
Avira looked at Loren. "Loren, thank you. With you here, our journey has always been meaningful."
As night fell and stars adorned the sky, in the small cabin in the forest, everyone was lost in their own thoughts.
In the small cabin, the weary atmosphere gradually gave way to a sense of relaxation. Aidan, with his passionate and brave nature, attempted to liven up the dull mood. "Don't you feel that every time we face our enemies, it's like reading a new storybook?" His voice carried excitement, and his eyes sparkled with the light of adventure.
Caspar glanced at Aidan, a hint of a sneer on his lips. "Storybook? Every encounter here feels like stepping into a deeper nightmare." His tone revealed indifference, with only a hint of obsession and possessiveness towards Avira in his gaze.
Iliad has always maintained a mysterious and aloof demeanor, offering no comment on Aidan's words and responding coolly to Caspar's taunts. "Every step is unknown, there's no need to demonize it excessively," his voice is calm and deep, as if hiding endless secrets.
Caspar is dissatisfied with Iliad's indifference and begins to target him. "Iliad, it seems like you always receive special attention from Avira. Do you think you are more important to Avira than the rest of us?" Jealousy and dissatisfaction flash in his eyes.
Iliad responded calmly, "Caspar, each of us has our own role and value here. There's no need to have delusions over a little attention." His words conveyed rationality and composure, but his eyes faintly revealed a hint of provocation.
In the dimly lit room, the conversation between Caspar and Iliad was like a spark about to ignite, making the already tense atmosphere even more strained. Caspar's sarcasm became sharper, his eyes filled with provocation and dissatisfaction, as if challenging Iliad's limits.
"You're always so aloof, Iliad," Caspar taunted, "can't you hide your feelings for Avira beneath that cold exterior? Or are you just putting on a show to get her attention?"
Iliad maintained his usual composure, but his eyes revealed displeasure. His voice was low and calm, " Caspar, your jealousy only makes you look more ridiculous. My concern for Avira is purely out of companionship, in stark contrast to your blind pursuit."
Caspar's face showed a hint of anger, his eyes became sharper, as if finding more points to target in Iliad's calm response. "Hmph, who do you think you are? Just a cold-blooded arrogant person. You know very well that you don't have a place in Avira in your heart."
Iliad still maintained a cold and aloof expression, but his eyes flashed with a cold light, a silent rebuttal to Caspar's verbal attack. He slowly stood up, facing Caspar, and his voice was filled with a cold warning: "Caspar, you better control your words and actions. We are here for a common goal, not for your personal emotions."
Aidan looked at the scene and felt anxious. "Alright, alright, we are all working towards the same goal. There's no need to argue over these trivial matters," he tried to calm the two, but his words carried an awkwardness, seemingly powerless in the face of the confrontation between Caspar and Iliad.
Ultimately, with Aidan's persuasion, the dispute between the two temporarily subsided, but there was still lingering dissatisfaction and hostility in their eyes. From their stiff postures and avoidance of direct eye contact, it was evident that the conflict had not truly been resolved. The atmosphere inside the cabin remained heavy, with everyone immersed in their own thoughts, feeling lost and anxious about the future path.
As the night deepens, the moonlight outside the window illuminates the silhouette of the forest, casting shadows into the room and adding a touch of mystery to the silent space.
In this profound night, Avira and her companions are each contemplating their future path, as the journey ahead will be even more challenging. The night breeze gently brushes by, and everyone in the small cabin quietly gathers strength for their own desires.
