Liu Yu exclaimed, "What? She really has some nerve!"
I sneered, "Yeah! She just can't change her ways."
"What should we do? Should we go find her?" Liu Yu looked at me and then at the bag.
I shook my head, "No need. There's a good show waiting for her tomorrow."
After saying that, I took out my phone and sent a message to Li Yu: [Come back quickly, something big is happening.]
[What big thing?] Li Yu replied.
[You'll find out when you get back.] I teased.
Half an hour later, Li Yu returned.
"What happened?" Li Yu asked.
"Liu Yu said Zhang Xin stole Zhou Xin's Frozen Pufferfish Meat."
Li Yu instantly exploded, "Is she crazy? Why does she keep stealing other people's stuff?"
I patted her on the back, "Don't get mad yet; there's a big show tomorrow. Let's stay calm."
"Big show?" Li Yu looked confused.
I leaned in close and explained the plan to her in detail.
After hearing it, Li Yu couldn't help but laugh.
That night, the three of us deliberately stayed out late before heading home.
We posted photos of our steak dinner on social media, intending for Zhang Xin to see them.
[This fancy Western meal cost a few thousand, and it was so delicious it made me cry.] Li Yu wrote in the caption.
Once this post went live, many friends came to like it.
[Wow, such an expensive Western meal! I want to eat it too.]
[So delicious! I'm so envious!]
Upon seeing this post, Zhang Xin immediately rushed out of her rental apartment.
She hurriedly grabbed a bag from the cupboard and rushed out the door.
The three of us watched her leave.
"Let her suffer on her own," I said with a laugh.
Late at night, Zhang Xin finally returned, carrying the scent of a Western restaurant.
"Burp~" Zhang Xin let out a satisfied burp, her face flushed.
"Oh, did you have lobster?" I asked knowingly.
Zhang Xin showed no shame and boldly replied, "Of course! What, are you allowed to eat but I'm not? You all went out to feast without even bringing me along."
I suddenly put on a serious face. "Zhang Xin, did you steal my things again?"
Though it was a question, my tone was very certain.
Zhang Xin froze for a moment before shouting, "I didn't steal your stuff!"
Li Yu questioned firmly, "You're still denying it? Zhou Xin bought Frozen Pufferfish Meat and one bag is missing; the packaging is in your room's trash can!"
Zhang Xin defended herself, saying, "I just wanted to take a look at the packaging."
I scoffed, "Look? You went through my trash can just to take a look?"
"I just happened to pass by and glanced at it," Zhang Xin said with evasive eyes.
I looked at her coldly. "Zhang Xin, don't touch what you shouldn't; otherwise, you'll regret it."
Zhang Xin pouted, clearly unconcerned.
She smugly said, "Do you have any evidence? Without evidence, it's just slander."
I gritted my teeth in restraint. "Fine, just wait."
After saying that, I picked up the plastic bag on the table and stuffed it into my small refrigerator.
Since the theft incident occurred, I had my parents pull some strings to buy me a small refrigerator with a password lock. The top shelf holds cosmetics and face masks, while the bottom shelf has some food; everything is double-sealed in vacuum bags, so there's no worry about cross-contamination or bacteria growth.
I changed the password on the fridge to Zhang Xin's birthday. Given her personality, she might just try to open it.
Everyone knows Zhang Xin's personality; she absolutely won't admit anything until she sees the coffin. Just like last time when we said she stole perfume, she immediately became sarcastic. But this time, we already have evidence in hand.
