Then, we each hid ourselves, holding our breath and quietly waiting for Qiu Long to appear. After a while, the familiar whistling sound echoed again, and Qiu Long appeared in the center of Xuanchi. It seemed to have caught the scent of the chick and opened its large mouth, lunging towards it.
At that moment, Xiao Xiao took the lead and shot a marble towards Qiu Long's eyes. Qiu Long reacted extremely quickly; upon seeing this, it abruptly closed its eyes, and the marble hit its eyelid, bouncing off. Seeing this, we rushed out, raising our weapons and attacking Qiu Long.
Qiu Long seemed taken aback by our ambush, suddenly opening its eyes wide and glaring at us. Then, it opened its massive mouth and lunged at us. We quickly retreated. Qiu Long pursued relentlessly as we dodged left and right, narrowly escaping danger.
A Meng swung her sword at Qiu Long's neck. Qiu Long swiftly shook its head to evade A Meng's attack and then violently swung its head back, colliding with A Meng. A Meng was knocked into the air and crashed heavily to the ground, groaning in pain.
Seeing this, we hurried over to help A Meng up. Qiu Long noticed and lunged at us again. I quickly raised my spear and aimed for Qiu Long's eyes. Upon seeing this, Qiu Long hastily closed its eyes; my spear struck its eyelid but bounced back.
In a panic, I withdrew my spear and thrust it forcefully towards Qiu Long's neck. Qiu Long seemed unprepared for my change in direction and opened its mouth wide, releasing a cloud of white mist. The mist was bone-chilling cold; my spear froze halfway through the thrust.
I quickly pulled back my spear with all my strength and shook it vigorously to shake off the ice shards. Then I raised my spear again and aimed for Qiu Long's neck. This time, Qiu Long seemed unprepared for another attack; it couldn't dodge in time and was struck by my spear in the neck.
Although its scales were hard, my spear was a divine weapon, incredibly sharp. With one thrust, it pierced through the scales and into the flesh.
The Qiu Long let out a long cry of pain, violently shaking off the spear and retreating. I hurriedly pursued, raising my spear to prepare for another attack.
The Qiu Long seemed to realize the power of my spear and dared not engage further. It suddenly swung its head and flew deep into the ravine. I rushed after it, but by the time I arrived, the Qiu Long had vanished without a trace.
I gazed into the depths of the ravine, silently vowing to eliminate this Qiu Long!
That night, none of us slept well. The strength of the Qiu Long exceeded our imagination, leaving us feeling helpless. Although we each possessed unique skills, facing such an invulnerable giant left us at a loss.
A Meng sighed for half the night before finally saying, "This Qiu Long is too powerful; we have no way to kill it. We might as well descend the mountain tomorrow."
Xiao Xiao agreed, saying, "Yes, this Qiu Long is terrifying. If we force a confrontation, we will only end up dead."
I looked at the dark cave, feeling a mix of emotions. Should we really give up like this? But if we did, what would happen to the people of Xuanchi Mountain? They endured the threat of the Qiu Long every day, living in constant fear.
If we gave up, our mission would remain unfulfilled forever. We came to this world for the purpose of completing our mission, didn't we?
