The cave entrance was hidden behind layers of vines, and if it weren't for Du Ming's keen eyes, we might have missed this secret passage. I pushed aside the last vine, revealing a dark and deep cave that seemed to lead to unknown places. Du Ming quickly pulled me behind him and cautiously stepped into the cave.
The journey to Kunlun Mountain was far more perilous than I had imagined. If it weren't for Du Ming's protection along the way, I would have likely met my end there. Upon returning home, the first thing I did was grab my best friend Bai Wei and share this thrilling experience with her.
"Oh my gosh, Du Ming looks so cold and aloof, but I didn't expect him to be so reliable in a critical moment!" Bai Wei exclaimed while munching on sunflower seeds.
I shot her a glare. "Can you be serious for once? The most important thing right now is to figure out what that green tea girl is really up to."
Bai Wei put away her playful demeanor and said earnestly, "Don't worry, I've got this covered. I've asked a friend to keep an eye on her every move on social media, and I'm sure we'll have news soon."
Sure enough, a few days later, Bai Wei excitedly told me that the green tea girl had recently developed a passion for flower arranging. She often shared her works on social media and had even joined an upscale flower arrangement enthusiasts group.
"This is a great opportunity!" Bai Wei said enthusiastically. "We can use this to get close to her and find out more about her."
I nodded in agreement and discussed it with Du Ming before deciding to go along with the plan. Through her connections, Bai Wei successfully infiltrated the flower arrangement enthusiasts group and invited the green tea girl to a small flower arrangement exchange event.
On the day of the gathering, Du Ming and I pretended to run into each other at the event as planned. The green tea girl wore a flowing white dress and had an exquisite makeup look that made her appear particularly elegant and charming. When she saw Du Ming and me, a flicker of surprise crossed her eyes before she broke into a warm smile.
"Master Du, Miss Guo, what a coincidence! I didn't expect to see you here," she said.

The green tea girl smiled lightly, "Yes, it's quite enjoyable to play around with flowers in my spare time." She covered her mouth with a soft laugh and glanced at Du Ming intentionally. "Unlike Master Du, who is so busy with work that he hardly has time to appreciate these things."
Du Ming merely curled his lips slightly without responding, exuding an air that discouraged approach. I secretly breathed a sigh of relief; it seemed he wasn't swayed by the green tea girl's charm.
"Master Du works too hard; I often advise him to take breaks, but he never listens," I said with a feigned sense of helplessness, though my tone carried an imperceptible sweetness.
The green tea girl's eyes flickered for a moment before she smiled again. "Miss Guo is truly considerate; Master Du is indeed fortunate."
As time went on, the green tea girl displayed exceptional enthusiasm, actively engaging us in conversation about various topics ranging from flower arrangement art to recent popular exhibitions, as if we were old friends.
I responded casually while secretly observing her actions. She spoke with just the right amount of smiles and lively eyes but also had an elusive quality that made her hard to read. I thought to myself that this woman was indeed not simple.
"Speaking of which, I've been researching a new aromatherapy technique lately that's said to relieve stress and improve sleep—it's very beneficial for health," I mentioned casually while closely watching her reaction.
Sure enough, when she heard "aromatherapy," her eyes brightened noticeably as she asked eagerly, "Oh? What kind of aromatherapy is that? I often feel stressed at work and don't sleep well; could you tell me more about it, Miss Guo?"
I felt delighted; it seemed the green tea girl was genuinely interested in health and wellness, giving me an opportunity to get closer to her. "Of course," I replied with a slight smile and began explaining the effects and uses of various essential oils in detail—from lavender for calming nerves to rose for beauty enhancement and sandalwood for meditation—speaking fluently as if genuinely sharing my wellness insights.
The green tea girl listened intently and occasionally asked questions while I patiently answered each one. Du Ming sat beside us, occasionally chiming in with a word or two; his comments were few but precise, showcasing his knowledge and poise without overshadowing me—our collaboration was seamless.
As the atmosphere of the gathering grew more harmonious, the three of us enjoyed lively conversations. Anyone unaware might genuinely think we were long-time friends.
After the gathering ended, the green tea girl took the initiative to add me on WeChat for easier communication about wellness tips. Naturally, I didn't refuse and smiled as we exchanged contact information.
"Miss Guo, Master Du, I had such a great time today. Let's grab a coffee together sometime!" Green Tea enthusiastically invited before leaving.
"Sure, I'm looking forward to it," I replied with a smile, but inwardly I raised my guard.
This recent test made me more certain that Green Tea's approach to Du Ming was no coincidence. Her keen interest in health and wellness—could it be related to Du Ming's physical condition? Or perhaps her closeness to me has another purpose?
