Wang Meili scoffed disdainfully, "You overestimate yourself." After saying that, she walked into Luo Can'ang's office, her high heels clicking and her hips swaying.
I took a deep breath, suppressing the anger rising within me, and headed straight to the copy room. Damn it, running into Wang Meili at this moment was just bad luck!
"Xiaoxiao, what's wrong? You look so pale," a concerned voice came from behind me.
I shook my head. "It's nothing, just a little tired."
"Is it because of work? Why don't you take a break? I can help you with the copying," the voice offered kindly.
"No need, I can do it myself." I forced a smile and walked into the copy room with the documents.
The faint scent of ink filled the air in the copy room as I mechanically operated the copier, my thoughts drifting far away. Wang Meili's words pierced my heart like needles; indeed, Luo Can'ang's romantic entanglements were quite complicated. I had tried many methods but had not succeeded.
"Ding dong—" The copier emitted a crisp sound, pulling me back to reality. I picked up the copied documents, organized them, and walked toward the conference room.
In the conference room, Luo Can'ang and Wang Meili were sitting across from each other, both smiling as they chatted about something. I walked in and placed the documents in front of Luo Can'ang.
"Mr. Luo, here are the documents you requested." My voice trembled slightly.
"Mm, just leave them there," Luo Can'ang replied without looking up, his gaze fixed on Wang Meili.
I stood to the side, awkwardly sensing the ambiguous atmosphere flowing between the two. Wang Meili casually brushed a strand of hair behind her ear and lightly parted her lips, "Can'ang, I really like that gallery you mentioned. Let's go check it out together sometime."
Luo Can'ang smiled slightly, "Sure, we definitely should go together when we have the chance."
I was taken aback. Can'ang? Wang Meili actually called Luo Can'ang "Can'ang"? When did they become so close? I secretly glanced at Luo Can'ang; he wore a faint smile, his gaze tenderly fixed on Wang Meili, as if the entire world consisted only of the two of them.
"Xiaoxiao, what are you doing standing there? Hurry up and pour some tea!" Wang Meili's voice suddenly turned sharp, as if she was deliberately reminding Luo Can'ang of my presence.
"Oh, right." I snapped back to reality and hurriedly picked up the teapot on the table, but accidentally bumped into Luo Can'ang's cup, spilling hot tea all over his documents.
"Ah! I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry!" I fumbled to grab a tissue to wipe it up, but only made it messier.
"What’s wrong with you?" Luo Can'ang's tone carried a hint of displeasure.
"I..." I opened my mouth but was at a loss for words.
"Mr. Luo, please don't be angry. Xiaoxiao might just be too tired and accidentally spilled," Wang Meili said softly, though there was a hint of smugness in her tone.
"Hurry up and make another cup of tea!" Luo Can'ang ordered coldly.
"Yes." I lowered my head and fled the meeting room.
Back in the pantry, I frustratedly slapped my forehead. Seriously, why am I so clumsy? Just then, someone walked in orderly.
"Xiaoxiao, what's wrong? You look so pale," Youxu asked with concern.
I told Youxu about what had just happened, and after listening, he furrowed his brows.
"It seems that Wang Meili is deliberately targeting you."
I sighed helplessly, "What can I do? She's the Golden Matchmaker, and I'm just Xiaoxiao, an Intern Matchmaker. To her, I'm nothing significant."
"Don't be discouraged. I believe you can complete the task," Youxu said, clenching his fist to cheer me on.
I forced a smile and shook my head, "I hope so."
That evening, I dragged my exhausted body home. As soon as I opened the door, I caught a whiff of a familiar aroma. Following the scent, I walked to the door next door and found it slightly ajar. I gently pushed it open and was surprised to see Luo Can'ang busy in the kitchen!
