Li Xiaolu stood in the elevator, pressing the button for her apartment floor. She watched the doors slowly close, and Jijun's face flashed in her mind, stirring mixed emotions within her. She sighed deeply and took out her keys to unlock the door.
As she stepped into the living room, something suddenly struck her, and she hurriedly turned back to leave. She walked downstairs and looked at the empty street, where there was no sign of Jijun. Li Xiaolu bit her lip, feeling a wave of regret wash over her. She had just forgotten to thank him.
Standing still, she stared blankly at the street. Suddenly, the snow began to fall heavily, large flakes landing on her. She couldn't help but shiver slightly, yet felt an inexplicable sense of romance in her heart. She extended her hand to catch a snowflake, watching it slowly melt in her palm, a faint smile appearing on her lips.
Suddenly, a pair of warm hands grasped her shoulders. Startled, she quickly turned around and found herself gazing into deep eyes.
“Jijun…” she said, staring at him in a daze.
Jijun smiled at her and asked, “Why did you come down?”
Li Xiaolu replied absentmindedly, “I… I forgot to say thank you.”
Jijun chuckled, “Do we really need to be so polite with each other?”
Li Xiaolu smiled back, “Anyway, thank you.”
Jijun looked at her with deep eyes. Feeling shy under his gaze, Li Xiaolu lowered her head and softly said, “Then I’ll go back up.”
After saying that, she turned to leave but was suddenly caught by Jijun's grip on her wrist. Surprised, she looked up to see Jijun's intense gaze fixed on her. Her heart raced unexpectedly, and warmth spread across her cheeks.
Jijun stared at her and suddenly leaned down to kiss her.
Li Xiaolu's eyes widened, her mind going blank. His lips were soft and slightly cool, carrying a faint scent of alcohol that was refreshing. Li Xiaolu's heart raced, and her breathing quickened as she closed her eyes, allowing Jijun to kiss her.
The kiss was not intense; in fact, it could be described as gentle, yet it made Li Xiaolu's heart race and her body feel weak. After an unknown amount of time, Jijun finally released her.
Li Xiaolu opened her eyes, her cheeks flushed and breathing rapid. She looked at Jijun, her gaze filled with confusion. Jijun looked at her with a hint of a smile in his eyes. He reached out and gently caressed her cheek, his voice low and husky: "Silly girl, breathe."
Li Xiaolu finally reacted, taking deep breaths to calm herself. She looked at Jijun, feeling a mix of emotions inside. This was her first kiss with a boy, and she never expected it to feel this way. Her heart felt like it had soared into the clouds—light yet incredibly fulfilling.
Jijun looked at her and suddenly laughed: "Now you believe me."
Li Xiaolu stared at him in confusion: "Believe what?"
Jijun smiled: "I told you before that the chef has very high standards for ingredients, so the garlic taste in your mouth wouldn't linger now."
Li Xiaolu's eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at him. "You...," she exclaimed in shock, "you did this on purpose?"
Jijun shook his head with a smile: "How could I do that to you?" He reached out and playfully tapped her nose. "I just wanted to tell you that I like you."
Li Xiaolu stared at him in astonishment, a wave of sweetness washing over her. She lowered her head and softly said: "I like you too."
Jijun looked at her, his eyes full of joy.
On the snow-covered street, a man and a woman walked slowly, the streetlights casting long shadows behind them. Li Xiaolu walked beside Jijun, occasionally stealing glances at him from the corner of her eye. He wore a black coat, his tall and slender figure standing out, with distinct facial features that conveyed a hint of aloofness.
As Li Xiaolu looked at him, a sweet feeling surged in her heart. She never expected that something like this would happen tonight. The memory of that gentle kiss made her heart race again. She turned her head to look at the nearby streetlight; its brightness was somewhat blinding, causing her to squint. Suddenly, she felt an arm wrap around her shoulder.
