Jijun prepared apple water for Li Xiaolu in his kitchen at her apartment. Li Xiaolu felt a warm sense of home from the scene. She sat on the sofa, watching Jijun busy in the kitchen, her heart feeling warm. She took out her phone and snapped a picture of him.
In the photo, the man wore a white shirt and black trousers, with his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, revealing his strong arms. He was focused on cutting apples, his head lowered. The soft glow of the setting sun streamed through the window, casting a golden light over him.
Li Xiaolu looked at the photo, a smile of happiness curling at the corners of her mouth. She couldn't help but think how wonderful it would be to live like this with Jijun in the future.
Once Jijun finished making the apple water, he brought it into the living room. Li Xiaolu quickly stood up and took the cup from his hands, saying, "Thank you."
Jijun looked at her and said, "You should take a sip first to see if it's sweet enough."
Li Xiaolu nodded and replied, "Okay." She took a sip and looked up at him, saying, "It's very sweet."
Jijun smiled slightly and said, "That's good."
Li Xiaolu handed the cup back to him, saying, "You should try it too."
Jijun lowered his head and took a sip. Li Xiaolu watched him expectantly and asked, "How is it?"
Jijun nodded and replied, "It's very sweet."
Li Xiaolu laughed happily. She took another sip of the apple water and then picked up a grape to feed Jijun.
Jijun ate a grape and looked at her, "You should eat too."
Li Xiaolu shook her head, "I don't want to eat."
Jijun frowned, "How can you not eat?"
He picked up a grape and fed it to her.
Li Xiaolu had no choice but to eat it.
Jijun looked at her, "Do you want more?"
Li Xiaolu shook her head, "No, thank you."
Only then did Jijun feel relieved.
He took the remote control and turned on the television.
The two of them sat on the sofa, leaning against each other.
The TV was playing an old movie—"One Day."
Li Xiaolu had seen this movie before and found it very touching.
Jijun had obviously seen it too, so he wasn't paying much attention to the film.
His focus was entirely on Li Xiaolu.
Feeling his gaze, Li Xiaolu became shy and her cheeks flushed slightly, "Why are you looking at me?"
Jijun smiled, "You're beautiful."
Li Xiaolu's cheeks turned even redder, "You... stop teasing me."
Jijun chuckled softly, "Alright, I won't tease you. Let's watch the movie."
He held Li Xiaolu's hand.
Li Xiaolu felt a bit stiff as he held her hand; she didn't dare to move.
She was afraid that she might accidentally touch Jijun's body.
She could only try to relax and let him hold her hand.
After they finished watching the movie, it was already dark outside.
Li Xiaolu felt that the atmosphere was a bit ambiguous. She shifted in her seat and said, "So, do you want to stay for dinner?"
Jijun looked at her and asked, "Can you cook?"
Li Xiaolu shook her head, "I can't, but I can order takeout."
Jijun smiled and replied, "No need, I'll cook."
Li Xiaolu blinked in surprise, "You?"
Jijun nodded, "Yeah."
Li Xiaolu hesitated and said, "But... won't you be tired?"
Jijun smirked, "I won't feel tired cooking for you."
Li Xiaolu felt a sweetness in her heart.
She said, "Then I'll help you."
Jijun shook his head, "No need, just sit there and be good."
Li Xiaolu nodded, "Okay."
Jijun went to the kitchen to cook.
Li Xiaolu sat on the sofa watching TV.
Her ears were attentive to the sounds coming from the kitchen.
Before long, Jijun finished cooking.
There were three dishes and a soup; it was simple but tasted great.
Li Xiaolu ate a big bowl of rice.
After dinner, the two sat on the sofa watching TV.
Jijun was typing away on Li Xiaolu's laptop, seemingly busy with work.
Li Xiaolu didn't disturb him; she leaned against Jijun's embrace while watching TV.
Gradually, she started to feel sleepy.
She closed her eyes and dreamily thought how wonderful it would be if time could stay still at this moment.
