I was at a loss. 0
He cried very sadly. 0
He put down his chopsticks and ran outside. 0
He squatted in the yard, crying heart-wrenchingly. 0
I sighed. 0
Sister patted my shoulder and walked out. 0
She approached the little boy and crouched down. 0
She spoke softly to him. 0
The little boy gradually calmed down. 0
He stood up and returned to the dining table, devouring his food. 0
He ate quickly, finishing everything on his plate and licking the rice grains from his bowl. 0
After he finished eating, he silently cleaned up the dishes. 0
He slept at the end of the sofa, with tear stains still on his face. 0
I thought for a moment and decided to go for a walk. 0
I got dressed and stood up. 0
Just as I was about to leave, Sister called out to me. 0
She said softly, "Zhao Di..." 0
I turned to look at her. 0
She was sitting on the bed, looking melancholic. 0
I asked in confusion, "What's wrong?" 0
She was silent for a while and then said softly, "I want to take in that little boy." 0
"Ah?" 0
She whispered, "We are all marginalized people; we are all alone and helpless." 0
She looked at me and smiled, saying, "I want to keep him company." 0
The little boy stayed in our home. 0
He became part of our family. 0
We gave him a bath and dressed him in new clothes. 0
His eyes were big and bright, and his skin was very fair, like snow. 0
He had scars on his face from being beaten by street wanderers. 0
He was orphaned, with no relatives. 0

He used to search for food in the garbage. He would fight with stray dogs for scraps and sleep alongside stray cats. When he was extremely cold, he would huddle among the homeless. He had slept under overpasses and in train stations. His name was Gousheng. 0

At nine years old, he had never been to school. He couldn't write or count; he only knew how to beg. He lowered his head and said softly, "I... I can work." 0

I smiled and replied, "We don't need you to work here." 0

He looked up at me, confused. Sister gently patted his head and smiled, saying, "You just eat and play." 0

His eyes turned red. 0

He looked down again and said, "I... I can wash the dishes." 0

I laughed. 0

I patted his head gently and said, "You're still young; you don't need to work." 0

He was silent for a moment before whispering, "Can I... can I sleep on the sofa?" 0

"Yes." 0

"And you can also sleep in the bed." 0

He raised his head. 0

Choking back tears, he asked, "Can I really sleep in the bed?" 0

I nodded. 0

He cried. 0

Covering his face, he began to sob loudly while squatting on the ground. 0

The three of us squeezed onto one bed. Sister slept on the left, I slept on the right, and Gousheng slept in the middle. 0

Gousheng was very happy. 0

He tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep. 0

Excitedly, he said, "Sister, I haven't slept in a bed for a long time." 0

Sister smiled and replied, "Then you can have a good sleep tonight." 0

"Mm!" 0

He closed his eyes and soon began to snore. 0

Sister also fell asleep. She slept deeply and started to snore as well. 0

I couldn't sleep. 0
I thought about many things, including our future. 0
What kind of future will we have? 0
Will we always be together? Will we live a happy life? Will we grow old peacefully? 0
I sighed. 0
When I woke up the next day, it was already late morning. 0
I opened my eyes and saw Gousheng; he was also awake. 0
He smiled. 0
"Sister, good morning." 0
I smiled back, gently patting his head, "Good morning." 0
He patted my head and said with a grin, "Sister, your hair is really nice." 0
I sat up and stretched. 0
Sister was also awake. 0
She rubbed her eyes and asked in confusion, "What time is it?" 0
I laughed and replied, "It's ten o'clock." 0
"What?" 0
"Is it that late?" 0
She slapped her forehead in frustration, "I overslept." 0
She got out of bed and walked to the window, pushing it open. 0
"The weather is really nice today." 0
I looked outside and felt cheerful. 0
The weather truly was lovely today. 0
The sun was shining brightly, and the birds were singing among the flowers. 0
